24:11 for someone running a true crime channel I'm a little surprised you don't know about how clay reconstructions work! Markers are placed on the skull to indicate tissue depth based on genetic factors (age, race, etc) and clay is used to reconstruct the facial features based on these measurements. Nowdays it's a little less common as we have digital tools and the ability to clean up morgue photos to an 'acceptable' degree but it's still often done in cases where only skeletal remains are located.

24:30 yes there is! Bone marrow is pretty good at retaining it, as is tooth pulp.

I understand how all that genetic stuff works. But like what about environmental effects on the body, like eating and sleeping living habits and standards, scars or burns. Like those things have such a huge effect on how you look.

John Doe number 6, The man from Balmore. Although as you say yet another very sad story I also believe there is magic in this man's life and existence. It would not suprise me that when he is identified that it will come about in a very random and special way. I say this because of the way he was found in the first place. A wildlife photographer was taking pictures in the wood that you name. They went back to their computer at home, downloaded the day's photographs, and there in one of them was The man from Balmore hanging high up from the branch of a tree. Sometimes, maybe always, people are still in control of their lives even when they are dead. (IMO) I firmly believe The Man from Balmore was in control of his 'finding'. Huge amounts of energy and resources have been used to try and find this man's identity. Just maybe he is also in control of revealing his identity himself, without interference, however well meaning, from us living human beings.

Aw that is such a nice thought and sentiment. Do you think he chose the gold course because he knows he would be found?!?
