Thanks Dave, I appreciate your insight and knowledge of the hobby. Never really thought about pricing of our hobby in the way you delivery it. But you are correct! My wife complains constantly about my slot car hobby! I try to explain to her, that with any hobby there is an initial cost involved. However, there are long term rewards. Just like trains, video gaming, genealogy, sewing or whatever. She begins to see the benefits/rewards when our grandchildren come over to race. Thank you for relating the hobby in an enlightened perspective. 👍🏼

Thanks for the update Dave. Some thoughts on the Datto 1600/510. Don't recall if the coupes were sold here in AUS so this comment is more reflective of the four sedan but... I have been loving the street car paint jobs on these that are turning up. Why? Because that my memories of those cars. They were raced in all sorts of classes all over the world but the only race liveries I am familiar with are BRE cars. Could name another one from any nation. Perhaps going out on a limb here but it may well be the case that street cars are what we remember all over the world.

Hi Dave , What you have said is about pricing on slot car sets and even cars I have to agree. When ever you have a hobby it’s expensive . No matter if you golf or boat or even have model trains every thing cost money. All hobbies brings happiness to all who are in it. I my self have to many hobbies ,but my real passion is slot cars. It’s been that for over 50 years for me. I mainly collect and there are times I wish I could buy everything I like. Unfortunately I have to pace my self . lol.😊 But as long as you enjoy your hobby that is the main thing. Thank you for all you do for this greatest hobby in the world. Keep it in the slot my fellow slot head.🏎🏎

Those Avant Yaris are rally 2:version, the rally 1 version with the more extreme aero kit comes later, got one on pre order here in the uk. Mother snd father of releases from Scaleauto, those Hypercars are phenomenal., going to be difficult to choose an IROC 911, couldnt justify all 12 unfortunately. The hard truth is that slot cars are not really meant for kids anymore. They are meant for the adults. Pricing is one, too expensive for pocket money but secondly, there are thousands of other options to play wtih as you've mentioned... games. phones etc etc. Great vid as always mate.

Hey Dave, what is up with the 1/64th scale cars. I collected matchbox and hot wheels for over 20 years, and was also interested in trains and slot cars. I love the scale of those cars, if you could give more info it would be appreciated. God bless everyone

Policar track is so much better price even by the piece. Slot it is just now entering the track section and doing it like they fo their cars. Better quality little less for hobbies quality stuff.

I wouldnt mind paying the money but no one around me sells any alot car stuff. I picked up a Carrera Go at Hobby Lobby and I love it. I was looking at Auto World HO and I think for that just over $100 is a bit crazy.

$400 bucks isn't bad for a set . hell the 2 cars alone are probably 120-150 of the cost plus the track ,controllers and power supply .
