There are many things I have not mentioned, but many things are already in my other two guides. So, besides two or three, I tried to make all the tips and tricks points unique and different from the other videos.

I do have one question for you: would you be willing to make a video comparing the usefulness of NPCs in the various overhaul mods? I know that you can hire them as bodyguards in some and even send them to get supplies in one mod--though I forget its name.

@@KeithOlson Yeah, that is a good idea. I just don't know when. My cup is pretty full right now, but I have put it down as something to look at. Most mods that allow NPC hiring only have that as a feature. I think Rebirth is the only one that has many features other than just hiring. So collecting resources, repairing your base, acting as storage and as a body guard are all in Rebirth.

tip not mentioned, if you come across a forge, chem station, cement mixer, shredder, workbench, etc... you can wrench it into your inventory. You will of course have to provide other resources to "recraft it" however you wont have to run to the trader area once you've put them down in your own base.

@@JADC1111 I believe i found one in a small unattached garage. just use the left click pipe wrench to pick it up into your inventory. you'll still need materials to repair it and some/most require and additional component such as a propane tank, anvil,crucible,saw blade etc.

Great video! I had to learn most of this by reading FAQs and trial and error. I know you couldn't put everything in this video, but a few things to help everyone. HP ammo is worth it for your class weapon, see Furious Ramsey's video on it. Keep all the Activated charcoal you find, you will need it later when you get a distiller to make distilled water (making it really sucks). Molotov's are easy and cheap to make, use them to deal with the early-game event hordes. Kite the hordes, Red tea helps with this. Golden Rod Tea helps with Mining. The item Schematic quest missions really are tough! *** Turn off Occlusion in your video settings, the big cities Rebirth uses will kill your FPS. ***

The strafing is also in the base game since coming to 1.0, not just this mod. It makes you walk faster, but run slower. Also fun fact; in this mod, aiming down sights (holding right click for PC users) builds up Dexterity, so aim and strafe when moving around the trader or your base or out gathering plants or stump hunting lol.

lol - yes the Q key - I have found this to be a godsend! I like to set up ambushes for zeds - by placing my companions out side the room and then stealth kill some of the zeds - as soons as they follow me they run into a hunter aura and sous-chief aura - my current play through! Although I can quite decide on my next class - I'm level 10 Hunter and Level 8 Sous-Chief

Great scott! You are going for a 3rd class. That is pretty good going. I would suggest Builder. I love my M92, and that max hammer is the best in the game. Knock down the zombies, then shoot them before they can get up.

also early game heal tip is just craft regular bandages since they give you 6hp and you can just spam them, easy to craft too if you have trouble finding better healing items

Any tips for leveling classes past your first? I used all my expertise books but didn't get far enough to get a decent weapon and hacking through radiated/tainted zombies with low tier weaponry is taking forever.

When you are doing your first class, I would always suggest you save the weapon expertise books for your second class. It is something Ramsay has recommended. It helps when you start the class, then you can boost yourself as starting at level 1 is a pain.

Funny thing about 7:15, the dog. I already knew about my dog being friendly but I also happened to get one of those red eye black wolves at the very start when I spawned in and died in second haha. Also I think most people want to know how to get water and I don't see that here. More referring to the Distiller

You can collect it from containers, sinks, etc. The distiller is a mid game option. You can see the two crafting recipes in your crafting menu. One from using repaired items, and one from a schematic you can do a quest for (Elias).

Quite a good collection of tips, although #17 is a bit of a trap. Unless you're playing with 50% of cars or something similar, there is no point to salvage working cars - you'll be swimming in car parts in no time if you just salvage the non-usable ones.

Well, I would not say it is a trap. It just means you can get car parts quicker. So you don't have to salvage as many. I think the biggest problem can be the specific engines for some vehicles. Other components, not much of a problem.

Dig quest is the best early game. You can go get like 4-6 dig quest on the same direction and finish it at the same time, Dig quest can also unlock higher quest (t3 above ) even thou u only doing t2 dig quest.(Dig t3 is rare and no t4 above) Dig quest also the safest option to farm those awesum mods . (Dig + daring adventurer perk)

Thanks :) You hold "E" on objects and it will give you a hand icon to pick up. The walkman is the Backspace key to put the music on. Also works in a vehicle. While playing press the Enter key to change songs. Volumn is + and - If you speak to Briston, there is a list of shortcut keys you can use in his menu.

I have a question. I'm doing a Thug build currently and right off the bat (no pun intended lol) it started me off with a double barrel shotgun. Do certain classes start the player off with a weapon and some don't? Nevermind. I thought about it and I think I answered my own question. I'm playing The Purge scenario first and I'm assuming that's different than a regular playthrough when it comes to what you get at the start.

Yes, for The Purge, you get a bicycle and some other goodies at the start. :) Pretty sure a double barrel shotgun is one of them.

Yes, it is entry level. So you can do it very early.

This mod is amazing but what is running or for me at the moment is the infected bears,those things are so tanky is nearly impossible to kill them or run away from them and the game for some reason spawn a lot of them sometimes i have found 3 on the same area makes nearly impossible to quest

@squallphin I had a lot of bears, but stayed in the forest for a long time. The forest bears were not too bad, just tried to avoid them. By the time I went to the snow I was max on one profession. I tend to avoid the bears or kill them from cover. Later on the zombie bears are tanky, but would get brought down from a full magazine machine gun or assault rifle.

I might push it for 2-4 more hordes but that will be it. 2.15 and zombie sim got introduced; lots of bugs and fps tanks very very hard till game freezes; when I log back my motorcycle is nowhere to be seen; seems it goes under ground. got caught like this once in wasteland and twice in cold biome, barely made out of wasteland alive so not sure I want to tempt my fate getting caught without ride deep into wasteland. This mod def need lots of performance optimization and def not ready for permadeath. See you soon in Rebirth.

It is likely as I added in a US subtitle. I made a mistake on one tip. I said that the anvil can allow you to make steel, but it is obviously the crucible. So I added a subtitle which commented for 5 seconds that it is crucible, and not the anvil. That I think has messed with normal subtitles. Sorry about that.

Thanks, though I didn't forget it. I mentioned the problem in my pinned comment above, I tried not to overlap with my other two guides. I covered broadcasting in my "What is Rebirth" guide. I do understand what you mean though, however, I am torn between trying to be as unique as possible and but also cover important aspects that deserve repeating. I guess I have seen storage broadcasting so often it is becoming quite standard in many mods.

I do have a mod install guide for generally installing overhaul mods. It is for Alpha 21, but works for version 1 as well. The main difference is that there is now a Mods folder already there in the 7daystodie folder. You can connect to Rebirth Discord to download the mod. They will also help you with installing it as they have guides there as well.

I still don't know how to make Primitive Clothes in Rebirth, and at this point I'm too afraid to ask... lol (I've leveled up my ability to craft them to level 5, I just haven't been able to find which station they require)

Hi Tybold Okay... so did you type "primitive" in the crafting menu? Also take a look at the crafting skills in the skills menu and you will see how armour is learnt. It is only the 3rd page of the crafting skills.

Yep, I leveled up the primitive armor crafting ability to level 5 by getting beat on I assume. Confirmed it on the crafting skills page as well. But when I went to try to craft it, it showed the hammer icon like when you're not at the right station to make something, and "Track Recipe" was the only option I had. I've been riding around in a hat and some shoes that I found digging through someone else's laundry! Worth mentioning that I only had the forge, workbench, and toolbox (all with appropriate tools) at the time. I've only been playing for a few hours so far, and it's all been just a bit overwhelming, lol. This vid was definitely a big help, though. Thanks so much for the quick response!

@@Tybold Yes, it is likely the most elaborate and reasonably high learning curve mods I have played. I know primitive armour is crafted on your character, so not in a toolbox or workbench. So, if you are using the wrong "bench" it will likely give you the tracking only option.

Most weapons are sell. The items you can scrap will show as scrappable. Otherwise, when going to the shredder, you will see items appear there that are in your inventory, or if you have storage broadcast on, they will also appear as scrapable in the shredder directly from the storage.

I used to think that Darkness Falls was the gold standard of mods. But Furious Ramsey and Rebirth literally fixes vanilla. All that nonsense and BS that makes vanilla unplayable he gets completely right. Bike being gimmes instead of being crafted is absolutely real world. Same with tools being easy to find. If this were a real apocalypse. All of they items would be literally EVERYWHERE! repairing the vehicles even makes more sense than having to assemble a complete vehicle. That's dumb for a 4x4 being an end game item. And what i have said about bandits in previous comments that people don't get. Who cares if the nerf pimps are still waiting to implement them for reason x of the y. Modders had them in there for years already and improved the AI over the years. If one or two people can outdo the work of an entire development team. The nerf pimps have no excuse. If what they are saying is true about the full release being it. Then i wish i had the money to buy the game. I would just give it to Furious Ramsey and let him turn it into what it should be.

haha, shame. :) Are you sure you were not using an old version? The dog resurrecting on your bedroll is a more recent build. Previously you had to have the bedroll down first before the dog died. You may have mistakenly told your dog to stay at some location?

The technogeek does well with salvaging. However, I was not a technogeek when doing the testing, but likely after playing a while your intelligence is higher. I also was using a ratchet.
