Arizona coughed this game up...The Bruins at least played just good enough to win. Sloppy game.

Arizona is a bad team. Slow and steady decline since Tommy took over, but this roster and the Big12 will speed up the process this season. Mid-major transfers and Euros are always question marks to compete at a high level. Add that to an extremely hands off approach to coaching and you get a team that can win easily against weak competition and lose every game to talented well coached teams.

I don't know about the team this year, but Tommy Lloyd has been undeniably excellent for Arizona basketball. First year as head coach Sweet 16 as a 1 seed, from team's under Sean Miller that performed below expectations. They have 2 Sweet 16s as fairly high seeds, and that shocking first round exit against Princeton (making the tournament all 3 of his years). Tommy Lloyd is undeniably a good coach (and it's hard not to decline when you're ranked 2 in the country).

@davidmorley4455 exactly Tommy's first year was easily his best. Since then the talent has lowered and so has the success. And if you're going to bring up Miller, then Tommy better make a Final 4 since he's better. Looks like he might make the bottom 4 of the Big 12 this season. When was this team 2 in the country? And what happens if Arizona keeps getting worse after this season?

@@daveman_gilbert Arizona was 2nd in country Tommy Lloyd’s first year as coach. He has definitely underperformed in the tournament given the talent of his teams. Given his history here though, I’d be surprised if he doesn’t turn this around (though admittedly I haven’t been following the talent that much of this group).
