I think it’s a great idea to show bits and pieces of you redo/expansion. My husband and myself are expanding my 16x18 craft shop and adding 24x24 space for quilting with lofts. Wow it’s a lot to go through but like you said it’s all for the better. Enjoy the ride, take lots of pictures. I really enjoy watching your videos and learning all about this latest obsession of mine.

Oh yes, I absolutely agree with your design on the island top! My only caveat would be that you keep in mind accent colors that you (and anyone else who might buy your house eventually) would want in a kitchen paint job - maybe just use all the possible metallics that anyone would use, e.g. silver, gold, bronze, copper - along with your colors?

Wow, Kanella. What an awesome piece that periwinkle is. As soon as I saw it, my mind took me to a grassie spot, laying under a big tree, just gazing up at the sky. Ahmm. Kanella - #1 - I ❤️ all things renovation, including the 'boring' parts of picking tiles/color schemes, etc. #2 - oh my gosh, I ADORE the violet blue pour and the garnet along with the silver against it - definitely one of my favorite color scheme pours!! 💙💙💙 #3 - this latest one surprised me. When I first see the garnet go down (I think it's the lighting) it seems muddy, like the browner side of garnet. After it's all blown and you bring the camera down and show the variation in the lighting, the garnet is the truly rich color gamet can and SHOULD ALWAYS be with that deep reddish foundation. * I really can say that seeing the end results of all of your pours, esp. after you've used the krystal (sp) resin on them, and you show them in the sunlight just renders them more stunning. At some point I would love to earmark some $$ to allow myself to commission a piece from you. Bonus that it would be in blues with silver and possibly the oxidized(?) purple, or maybe now the garnet! Bllues and most of the variations of it are my favorites. 💙 Pardon the length of my comment, there was a lot to address! 🤩

I restored a historical home from 2007 to 2012. For the first three years, I had NO kitchen. That part was not fun. But the rest was. I've documented all of it with photos. One of these days, I should do a scrap book. It was all worth it in the end as I did win an award for well tending a historic property. It's been on a Xmas home tour twice. And of course, your art is phenomenal!

I would also love to see your renovation progression. It's always interesting to see other people's dreams and ideas. Also love the idea of you making a resin countertop (blue?)for your island. Stonecoat makes gorgeous epoxy resin that is supposed to be extremely durable and can be colored using pigments. They even have 1 and 2 day in-person classes in Oregon to learn how to use the material so that you don't waste any resin with experimentation.
