Crimson crisis can be very good or absolutely shaft you. The ratios are wildly varying and inconsistent. So I am going to have to bet on the mystery side.

To me, the genuine true and actual value of a mystery box, in the same way it originally was for opening packs, is the novelty and fun of the experience. The actual usd value to me, doesn’t matter, although with how ‘poorly designed’ many modern mystery boxes are, which typically are just a 3rd party, repacking ‘mystery packs’ (sealed boosters from manufacture’s) with the ‘chance’ to upgrade to a different, you guessed it, ‘mystery pack’, which typically may be more expensive in the current market, but is almost certainly probably a weighed / scaled pack from whatever era. Again, to me, what makes these listings successful, are people who genuinely make fun (usually lower cost to buy / thus being worth buying an actual REPACK, like a 3rd party wants to make an actual fun pack and doesn’t trust manufacturers to guarantee that, so they won’t make mystery boxes of mystery packs, that are in fact, just disappointing more often then not, and considering the novelty pulls being not only abysmal, but the actual ‘qty of mystery pack inserted’ also terrible relative to the premium paid per pack 😅 I don’t know, just my 2 cents, but it doesn’t actually matter how you see a novelty product like this, what makes them sell or keeps them selling (without videos) is usually when a 3rd party has entirely dialed in their novelty pack so that they can sustain, financially (it’s not hard the margins are crazy on mystery boxes - even being very fair and delivering good value, and most of all, genuine fun and amusement from the novelty, which they used to do

In a world where everyone lists for imaginary value and gains, it boils down to where a person finds themselves at mentally, for what they value Do they value, maybe potentially making someone’s day a little bit more fun, just because, and they happened to buy a novelty product, or is it all about scraping an extra 2x on your % , just because the 3rd party chose to spend all of their budget on the packaging, to lure customers, vs just genuinely delivering something fun. This is worthless carboard 😂

It comes down to this for me basically, id gladly ‘lose’ potential x’s (I’m not greedy I don’t have them I don’t care about imaginary money anywys 😮😂) if it means I deliver a way better product, that’s an actual novelty, that when someone opens it up, when they consider their price point for the novelty, they don’t feel scammed for what they ‘pulled’ If I was rich, even though it doesn’t matter to me , there are quite literally things you can do just because you want to do them, entirely unrelated to making more imaginary money

I think the mystery box will win. The booster box will probably have some good pulls, but I think a lot of the $240 price comes from the fact that it's a sealed product from many years ago, and that price increase is likely out of proportion to most increases in the prices of singles within the set.
