This is what I like to use to adjust the geometry of a CRT TV using 240p test suite. Pretty much just two main patterns and a service menu (or potentiometers)

I have several SNES's, along with an Everdrive. But my go to whenever I purchase a CRT in the wild is to bring an old digital camera that has composite out. I extract a few of the image files (grids, linearity, color bars....) and play them on the TV. It's just that simple. People overthink this all the time (console, cart to run the program, etcc..). True, you can't run the whole suite that way but you can use the image patterns for a quick reference.

Great video! I'd love to see correction of really bad geometry. I have a Samsung slimfit that has an amazing picture, but geometry is terrible w/underscan. Service menu allows tons of adjustments, I got it better but not great. It also has a 'zoom' feature which expands the image to extreme overscan. Maybe I need to work backwards w/zoom enabled? Thx!

I use to use a land line phone and take the ear piece and rotate it slowly in and out to fix Purity issues like that. Hope that helps!

Hello dude, I have a very similar Panasonic TV, a 27 inch Panablack late model, with the exact same service menu and the same vertically flat screen. Could you PLEASE, PLEEEEASE share your adjustment values with me? Not all of them, only from the HDEF to the VDEF sections. My TV came out of the box with the yoke misaligned a couple milimeters to the low right and I thought i could correct it using the service menu. I screwed up the image a little and now I can't go back to defaults. I've looked everywhere for a CRT technician but it seems they've all freaking retired!! Please, PLEASE, in the name of humanity, share your values with me :( if you don't want to write all the names, just put the numbers and I'll assume you're going from the top line of HDEF to the bottom line of VDEF, from left to right. Thanks in advance, I hope you can give me a hand.

It was just from earth's magnetic field, larger tv's can be difficult to fix those issues

How do you get to this TEST SUITE screen?
@henryb6104 ай бұрын
240p test suite is available for most retro consoles (ROM format, like you are downloading a game) you can get it for nes, snes, ps1. Search for it on Google.

He said you have to buy a cart if it's a cartridge system or buy/burn a CD/DVD if it's PS2, Dreamcast, etc
