I bought a Bauer vapor 3.7x with p28 curve and I LOVE it. It’s a great stick if you’re a center and you’re taking mostly wrist shots, but slappers also work.
@francoisderochefortgauvrea66965 жыл бұрын
So, so true. The stick does not make the player. Case in point, during WW2 there have been many cases where pilots who flew inferior aircraft were accumulating more kills than pilots with better aircraft. Talent, intelligence and hard work usually wins the day. Learning to master the tool you use will ultimately be your greatest advantage.

I started playing hockey this year and I play with wooden stick. Of course sometimes its annoying to lose pucks in training when your opponents have lighter sticks and they can use it faster, but I think the wooden one will train my wrists and overall stamina.

Good points. If the flex is right and especially the curve I can pick a very cheap stick, I don't notice that big of a difference worth all the extra money

I’ve bought so many sticks, I work at pure hockey so I make good money and get discounts and honestly I have about 10 $300 + sticks and I honestly like the cheaper warriors

I have been using all this high end sticks for 2 years now. I have probably broke 6-7 sticks. You definitely changed my mind in that and I will probably buy a little bit cheeper next time.
@CoachZac7 жыл бұрын
Exactly, and that's not even putting in time OFF the ice. There is literally no point in buying those expensive sticks unless you have money to burn.

247 Hockey the nice thing about Sherwood is that one they're not super expensive for a top stick, they have the lightest stick on the market for $200, compared to bauers lightest stick, the 1x being around $300. Also, you can buy a wood stick from Sherwood with the same curve as your game stick and practice on the streets and such, because as you probably know wood stick do last longer
@CoachZac7 жыл бұрын
Ya, $200 is still spendy if you plan on shooting 250-500 pucks with it 3-4x a week. Most players don't want to break it so they don't do that or they use an old crappy stick that doesn't have the same feel.
@codyreep84987 жыл бұрын
247 Hockey yea that's true, I use my top sherwood for stickhandking and shooting on my slideboard/shooting board because it will not crack or break on it, but if I want more room I can always use my driveway. Yea $200 is spendy but most top of the line sticks that aren't as good as my stick (in my opinion) are usually $275+

i use a $250 stick but i got it 50 % off. I train with that stick and play with that stick, i have a backup stick that i only paid $30 for. I choose my sticks based off of HOW I SHOOT and if they FEEL GOOD in general and if stickhandling feels smooth and seamless with it
@CoachZac7 жыл бұрын
Perfect. just make sure that you are using sticks that you are also going to train with off the ice and you can get tons of shots in, otherwise it's not worth it to have an expensive stick. You should have 2-3 of the same sticks so you can train with the same stick you use in games.

I used to have a stick that I love it was the 1x lite and when it was time to get a new stick because it was short and was ready to snap in half because the flex was to low I got the fly light. saying that the lower priced stick doesn't make that big of a difference is a HUGE misconception, i have been using top priced sticks my entire junior career. Now that i play men's league i bought lower priced sticks and the difference is crazy. FALSE
@CoachZac6 жыл бұрын
Sounds good Blake, I disagree but that's fine. I've used both my entire career as well. I get sent top of the line sticks from companies and I use them vs. lower end sticks and there is very little difference. However, if your experience is different I completely respect that my man. Thanks for sharing.
