Thank you for this! You and Ryan at 60 Cycle Hum are really doing the community a HUGE service by actually reviewing affordable gear. My Indio 66 DLX Plus Goldtop came perfect from Monoprice. Frets level, ends dressed and rounded so they weren't sharp. Action was exactly where I wanted it. It was perfectly intonated, also. All I had to do was tune up and play. Nut was cut perfectly. I was shocked at how well it was set up for a $250 guitar considering people spend $4k on a Gibson and they usually aren't. It was set up so well, as a matter of fact, that I didn't even want to change strings for fear of changing the setup somehow lol. Luckily it came with D'addario 10s on it so I didn't need to change them when I got it.

Nice video Max The Indio Boardwalk is a great guitar. I just bought the charcoal burst model about 2 weeks ago, and I love it. Beautiful finish and black hardware, and I love the way it plays and sounds. Hard to beat in that price range.

Those guys from Indio seem to make good instruments for the price! There was a video on a different model by Darrell Braun, and he was pleasantly surprised, too. The fact the binding is actually good, which is rare for guitars of that price range, very impressive.

Its size doesn't actually matter. If it's sharp enough to cut adhesive tape, it'll do the job. (Plastic spoons, on the other hand, are generally not sharp enough.) Max, as they say, is just extracting the Michael.

I have the Indio telecaster. I love it! $99! Has the tele twang. Had to spend 15 minutes smoothing out some of the frets. For $99 totally worth it.

The best news here is that this guitar also comes in a reasonably nice red color and chrome hardware for us traditionalists. A few dollars cheaper, too! This one looks like a good candidate for a semi-acoustic electric rendition of "Flight of the Bumblebee". =))

I have one of their older steel string acoustic guitars, from back when the guitars were still Monoprice branded, in a trans red finish, and the Indio 66 classic, which is their cheap single-cut LP-ish style, in silver burst finish. I really like them. The 66 is the one that I've had sitting next to the couch lately, to just pick up and dink around. I also have one of the less expensive Stage Right guitar amps (the one without an effects loop), and the bass amp. I've also got a couple of guitar headphone amps, but I don't think they sell those anymore. Mine are good, but I think they had some quality issues with them overall. I've had very few things from Monoprice that I haven't liked. Inexpensive, but they punch above their weight class for sure. I've been eyeballing their Helix guitar (HSS SuperStrat) in purple, lately.

Looking forward to the demo of this hollow body. I noticed you were sporting the new red burst Wolf LP 750 T on the exit pic. I just got one of the same color about 10 days ago. They are great looking guitars, and play perfect right out of the box! The only downside is, the damn thing looks so good you are scared to put a scratch on it!! I haven't brought myself to take the pick guard plastic off it yet... LOL!!

I just cant get through to a friend of mine about the quality of affordable guitars in 2020! He's after a lp style guitar and looking at the new epiphone models but they are around £470-£550 in the uk and some are not even mahogany anymore! I said go buy the Harley Benton SC 550 in paradise flame just because of what you get for your money and what you save you could fit a set of second hand gibson humbuckers and still have money left over for a couple of used pedals! The Brand name just seem to be what he sees not what he's getting. Keep up the education of people.... as a fool and his money is easily parted.....

Stu, amateur player. Gotta have the right ear to know. I personally like Epiphone over Gibson based on feel and price but some lesser known brands make really good stuff for cheaper than Epiphone. It’s all a matter of what the guy playing knowing what he wants. If he wants it, he’ll learn the hard way. Not to mention that nowadays, you can get a “Chibson” that plays comparatively better than a real Les or 335, nevermind the fact that Gibson today have Chinese plants building LP’s and 335’s.

In the 80s we had no playable cheap guitars and even the more expensive were garbage! Now we have brands like Harley Benton/firefly who are knocking it out of the park!

@@stu-j . So true!! I got my first D body 6 string in !1976, it was $29 and was/is crap. Still have it. It was a Brand called Checkmate. The fingerboard and bridge were not ebony, but black paint, I don't think it had a truss rod, had open machines which I despise. . But I learned on it, and swore my next guitar was going to be sweet! My next guitar was a 1978 Gibson Les Paul, in tobacco sunburst, sweet! If these Indios, Fireflys, and Benton's were around in the 70's, they would have been compatible to $500 guitars then ( in 1970's dollars). My days of $2000 Gibson's and Guilds are over. Too many cork sniffers still look down their noses if there isn't an F or G on the headstock, and throw Taylor in with those two as well. I just picked a used Greg Bennett D5 for less than $100, threw on a set of Elixirs and a Graph Tech saddle, sounds just beautiful. Never again....

Excellent, GM. I just purchased an LP with perfect Gibson headstock from ebay's guitardream366. I know it's electrics are not the same. Had to set up the octave scale for intonation like my Glarry fretless bass @ $69. delivered. But this green burst finish is sweet for a few bucks more than yours. (You always find the better deal, bro!) So, I've ordered their SG custom 3gold p/up with cream white @ $210. delivered. I'll tweak that boy too, GM. China's on hold-down so I expect it's arrival end of April.

Monoprice makes some really good audiophile products under their Monolith Line. I don't have any of their ehadphones, But I know their collaboration amplifiers with ALex Cavalli designs are very good. I love my Liquid Spark.

I've been looking at this but they're releasing a iced tea burst LP-style guitar like their gold ones, which is what's in my avatar. So now I'm buying the Burst they're about to release, also. Instead of one of these Boardwalks. I realllllly want a classic red one, though. The natural maple flame one looks great, too. So, does the black burst with flame top. These guitars are made by World Sound Music/Yeou Chern Enterprises in case anyone is wondering who manufactures them. They make FANTASTIC guitars. My Goldtop is phenomenal!

I have an Monoprice Idyllwild Acoustic / Electric. Fishman electronics. Great finish, great playability. My first one had a fret buzz and they replaced it with no issues, except they weren't in stock and I had to wait a month. Overall I love it and you get so much guitar for so little money. I have seen a strip down on a couple other Monoprice guitars and the pots are cheap and basic, but they play well and would make a great first guitar for anyone. I have an Epi Dot Studio and I think this guitar is probably comparable for about $100 less. Monoprice offers good value.

Great looking guitar. The size of it looks to be smaller than an EPI 335 so more manageable to play. I have a $99 Indio blueburst Strat and love it so this looks to be another great value guitar. Look forward to hearing it.

Monoprice Indio boardwalk, yep you was bang on. It was purdy but the tuners was crap. Had to send back to monoprice. That was the only thing they would do to resolve the issue. Had to go through a refund process For one tuning key. I guess I should have just bought a new set less hassle.

Max, I have an EDC Gerber I think is an STL… Anyway she’s my daily carry and not only under 3” but being a tanto blade has served me well. I recommend that one or the Prybrid which is actually an EDC box cutter.

The finish kind of reminds me of an old mandolin that used to be in my family. It was brown on the outside edges and gourd yellow in the center. Let us know how it compares to the Firefly. It's got to be a better player for sure.

I suppose if the people are still not satisfied, you could get a Zweihänder sword. But those are quite unwieldy: they have a six-foot blade, and like the name says you need both hands to wield it. You also need a friend to hold the box who trusts you not to cut THEM by mistake. For some reason, budget hollowbodies like this have lately disappeared from the online markets here in Malaysia. Are you Americans buying them all up? I really wanted one.

(if you have many knife or cutting tools ) ,i love the look of this guitar , i wish to find a black out hollow body guitar if i found it ! i have a suggestion about test ,i'm buying 2 month ago chinese pickups of the brand : Oripure ,it's a pair of dropsonic style humbucker (one coil with blade and one coil with hexa screw ) the neck pickup is alnico 2 and the bridge is alnico 5 ,i put them on old ibanez rx series the sound is very awesome and hot , for sure you loved them ! i buy them on ebay ! try it et review it if you are interested ,i'm sure many viewers loved them if you test them on a guitar . thanks for your work ,i enjoy to see all of your videos ,take care max ! you rocks ! Looks pretty (although...no binding on the headstock??), but after my horrible experience with a sub-$500 Ibanez accoustic and a $450 Epiphone SG Pro G-400, both of which were horrible, I will never again buy another guitar under about $850. That's about the lowest I trust going and having it not be more pain and time spent dicking with it than the savings was worth. My money says the frets will be uneven as sin on this thing. That's usually the first point of failure with cheap guitars, in my experience.
