@@raphaelchen2223 I appreciate your comment, but I'm not sure how it fits in here. I wasn't talking about the musician at all. She's simply amazing. The quality of the instrument, though, often means the difference between sound and noise even in the hands of a skilled artist.

@@WaltRBuck Well, if "cheap" means under 10 bucks, then I agree. In fact, injected plastic models (alto) around 30 bucks can have a enjoyable sound, of course not comparable to handmade instruments but still enjoyable.

I second the sentiments of Jeanco. The Dutch are treated to sooo many wonderful early music performances...the lucky dogs. I mean, even in the location, Utrecht, there is yet another wonderful organ by Arp Schnitger. Speaking of organ, the music beginning at 20' is one of the Vivaldi pieces that Bach transcribed to organ, although I believe he transcribed the violin version of the piece. It is so nice to see a young person taking an interest in classical music, and being skillful in its execution. She is indeed a fine recorder player.

What makes you think it was meant to be a large public occasion? Nothing is more Baroque than performances for small groups in smaller rooms. Not everything needs to be large to be a success. And, with the recorder and harpsichord at a convention of specilalists, we are dealing with something quite different from the Three Tenors in a football stadium. We need not go by such standards. So there's nothing at all "pathetic" about this!

I'm proud of you!! Watching the technique of excellent recorders and teachers on KZbin is extremely important. I'm going to be controversial here to some: Horsch is the best since Brüggen. In hindsight (this written some years after this recording) she is already here on a different level from Petri, and is musically up there with the now retired Verbruggen. Good to that Lucie reached adulthood without the flame going out (so easy in those teenage years). A truly wonderful player.
