The basic average 'run of the mill' thief won't be carrying around professional lock picking sets like Bill or the LPL. Those guys and the professional pickers likely could pick/infiltrate almost any lock in a non destructive manner. To the rest of us? Yeah....unless it's a master lock? We'll need plenty of time before we resort to the pry-bar. He's showing us well known exploits that Sentry should be ashamed of.

I have a cheap one with a giant medieval looking key that looks like it came from Winterfell - there's no way a magnet is opening that. But neverthelss SOME body found out how to open it when i was gone, came back and somebody had put a bullet in the chamber of my AK, dropped the hammer then put it all back together. Its impossible to do that by accident, meaning they wanted to show me they could break into the safe anytime. But my maintenance people of the apt. were all our friends from south of the border, all of whom teach each other to pick locks by age 4 just for a hobby, so i took that into account. When you rent an apt, this always happened and no exceptions, be 100% certain that maint. people WILL enter your premises when you're gone, for no legitimate reason whatsoever just to poke around your shit, and some will even have the gall to leave "CLUES" just to show you they can come in anytime! So its always fun to leave things for them to find too, to fuck with their minds also...let your imagination run wild here folks, it's only fair.

Robert Maybeth....I know your reply has been sitting here awhile but I have let folks know that you dropped some serious truth here. A lot of our friends south of the border has acquired special talents while attempting to go back and forth. I too lived in a complex where by day most of these fine people were great people to know...but by night some of them would be host to friends that seem to come out of the wood work. Don’t get me wrong, the majority of the long term residents were hard working people but it was their guest who were transients that caused the most problems....most of the times it was the younger ones. Also, where I lived it was the maintenance crew who would wait and get into stuff when everything became quiet. They cleaned me out, watched tv and prepared lunch while I was away. They even got upset when I changed my locks and stopped buying their favorite foods. I love my brown and black brothers but I had to saddle up and get the Puck outta dodge. This is an ongoing problem and it doesn’t matter where you live...someone is always planning on camping out and enjoying stuff on your dime....and by the way that dime has to be adjusted for inflation 😲☝🏼

+Benargee-I think Mr. Lock's point was that millions of these Sentry safes are sold with the pretense that people are providing excellent security for their belongings when it is indeed not true. I think he is trying to let people know that if you're going to buy a safe, take the recommendation from someone like him instead of advertisement material from a safe company. I think he is also demonstrating the difference between a $250 safe and a $1000 safe...sometimes you get what you pay for. Also, he pointed out another critical flaw with this new "improved" safe in that it does not have a redundant interior hinge like the old version has. So, if you could pop the hinge pin out, you could open it that way, too. So he keyed in on two vulnerabilities in this video.

Call me weird...but , I'll never understand why people do something like this video ? Is it just so they feel superior ? Why do I say this? Because if you meant to help some company to make their product better, you go to that company and show them. You don't put ( HOW TO BREAK INTO A SAFE ) on youtube. Or, are you meaning to train the next generation of Thieves? Much like the "Kia Boys" videos taught the world how to steal cars, that is all this video does. It has no sane, legitimate reason, just a ego pump ! When Free media, becomes harmful to innocent people, it shouldn't be published. This is not a service for people. A service for people would be to recommend good Safes that aren't easily broken into, but not showing everyone in the world how to break into any safe. Of course thieves, and this creator will feel different than I, but this shouldn't be on youtube.

I've never considered a fire safe to be "secure". I always thought of them as a place to keep documents etc from getting cooked if the house catches fire. They always look so cheaply made to me. This however is rather amusing, just goes to show, if someone wants in, you're only slowing them down. In this case by only a few seconds.

I have a little safe that I'm pretty sure could be open with a hair pin easily enough with someone who has pick-locking experience; I keep my documents there for fire safety reasons too. Having said that, I'm not 100% sure it would survive a fire, though. I'm sure it will survive *some* fires, at least, so it's probably better than nothing, and it's easier to find our documents when we need them, too.

For the average home owner I believe this safe provides adequate protection, primarily from fire which is the reason i bought one. As far as thrives go, I don’t think your average crackhead carry’s a rare earth magnet with them. With this safe bolted to the floor I believe it will be left damaged but unopened in a break in enter. It’s not like the thieves have all day to figure out how to open it.
