Often imitated, never duplicated. Lousy midi rips will never stand up to someone with experience hand sequencing songs. If I just ripped midis and put in zero effort, I too could release dozens of songs per week but if I don't think a song meets my standard for quality I won't even upload it

So how do you make these? With a tracker or plugins in a DAW? I'm having a hard time believing this is completely legit because the square waves sound too good to be FM, and you couldn't stereo-pan them on the PSG. This really doesn't seem like something you could play back on a real system.

I assume all you need to do is download a midi file of the song, open it on your DAW and use some vst plugin with these sort of "16bit" sounds for all the instruments, it's a 5 min job, but most of people don't even realize that.
