Great Smoky Mountains boasts the most visited park last year at 12.9 Million visitors!!! A factor for this is its location in the US, a days drive from majors cities on this side of the country. Please don't come here (or anywhere ) in these Parks and leave rolled up diapers in the parking lots and leave your garbage in your car till you can find a dumpster. There are really some who don't care where they trash. Sad.

Everglades May not be the most appealing park to humans because it essentially is just a hot, muggy, swamp. But this park wasn’t created for humans. This park was one of the first national parks created to solely protect the wildlife that call the Everglades home. And if you look deep enough the abundance of wildlife really does make this park a real gem.

For me, Mesa Verde made the Grand Canyon feel quaint. Imagining the scale of those dwellings was awe-inspiring. In pictures, and videos it always looks tiny, and doesn't do it justice. We also tent camped on top for two nights, and I've never seen a more brilliant sky in my life. You get the double benefit of high elevation, and low light pollution. It's absolutely UNREAL looking! Mesa Verde also had one of the coolest (and scariest) trails I've ever hiked (Petroglyph Trail). There's a portion were you have to climb up the rockface almost vertically.

I agree that Olympic should be in such a list - but understand that maybe their approach was to list those parks most readily experienced by tourists. That's the only way I can understand its exclusion.

Glacier is absolutely the best. I’m with you on that. I’ve been to almost all of them in this video and Glacier should be higher on this list. I did put Yosemite before Grand Canyon but that’s just me

@Mark Johhson Haha definitely. Must live in Colorado and have visited surrounding areas. Honestly, Rocky Mountain is one of the most underwhelming parks I've been to. You get hyped up for it, and then you find out it's just pretty typical alpine terrain. It was a huge letdown for me personally.

The hot springs of Yellowstone's colors are due to different alge that live in hotter to cooler waters.....very nice National Park compilation! If you ever plan a National Park vacation, save Yellowstone for last so as not to be disappointed. PLUS start in the South and head North so in the summer you go from hot to cooler temps.

Pretty solid list. The top 3 are pretty much expected. I would probably just swap Canyonlands with one of the parks in the Dakotas. Not that Canyonlands isn't amazing, but there are already many Utah parks, and the prairie region needs a representative.

For those of you who have not seen it, the series National Parks: America's best idea by Ken Burns is worth watching! It details how they came to be, those individuals and organizations that not only worked and fought to establish them, but also protect them from the forces of greed and short-sightedness!
