My mom's family grew up in the country here in rural Oklahoma and canning foods from the garden was one of the many things they did with both vegetables and fruits this was a regular thing that they did every summer when they had a lot of food growing in the gardens thanks for the great memories of my relatives had canning jars filled with various food from fruit preserves to chow chow and once again thanks for the great memories.😋🍎🍑🍇🍐😋

My mom who was raised by her grandparents was listening to the radio they asked a question to win a refrigerator, mom called in won and grandma got on phone to give her delivery info also because my mother was 12 lol it was a big excitement to get that gas powered refrigerator . They canned everything ! Grew a large garden, wasted nothing, every yard had chickens it was just what it was. Hand sewed a lot of clothes you was real fancy if you had a pedal ran singer sewing machine. My mom is 90 still takes care of herself, drives , still has a garden, and Loves the Lord with all her heart. She no longer does any canning or raises chickens I do that for her, and I dehydrate a lot as she prefers soups now days .
