I almost didn't watch, Noele Gordon shown instead of Pat Phoenix and terrible mispronunciation of names, but I remember Pat, she opened a car dealership and workshop in my town and was kind enough to give me a smile as I took her photograph, I think I was around 10 or 11. Nowadays it would be a selfie. Lovely lady and great actress. Her long-term partner, Tony Booth, was Prime Minister Tony Blair's father in law. Cherie, Booth's daughter was a top lawyer, a QC.

I remember when Coronation Street you could associate some of the characters with people you knew and there was a bit of comedy as well. It was family show when we could all sit down and watch it Now it's all about nastiness, evil doings and keeping up with Eastenders where nobody even smiles.
