I was at that Grand Prix. As I remember it, Michelin had the option of shipping sets of a harder compound tire that could survive the loads through the high-speed bank section where Ralf crashed. Because the tire wouldn't be competitive with the Bridgestone tires, Michelin and their teams orchestrated a boycott instead of owning the safety issue. I was a Ferrari fan at the time but still felt really cheated out of a good experience. FOM stood their ground and awarded points to the teams that raced.

11:40 “with a race restart on the cards, every team predicted that intermediate tyres would be needed except Lewis Hamilton’s side of the Mercedes team” Every team actually predicted that dry tyres would be needed except Lewis Hamilton’s side of the Mercedes team, who started with intermediate tyres. And this was a race restart after the race had been red flagged. Everyone did the formation lap on intermediate tyres, and everyone re entered the pits to change to dry tyres, before getting to the grid to restart, except Hamilton, so when the race restarted, Hamilton was the only one who restarted from the grid, but he was on the wrong tyres. He dropped to last place when he pitted to change to dry tyres but by the end of the race he finished in 2nd place 12:20 The video is entitled “Dumbest F1 Moments Ever”. Formula E is not F1 18:55 “The impact spun Raikkonen into Rosberg, who was waiting beside him” No, Hamilton drove into the back of Raikkonen, pushing him forward, then Rosberg drove into the back of Hamilton. Kubica was waiting beside Raikkonen. Kubica was not hit in this incident, and went on to win the race. Also the image used in the thumbnail did not happen at an F1 event. Nothing in this Video makes sense: - Title says funniest moments, this is changed in the first seconds of the video to funniest and most stupid moments - How is a driver hiting the medical car funny or stupid? It's a incident that nobody wanted to happen - Title says F1 History, yet one point is about Formula E - How is aborting a race for safety reasons dumb or 'the worst decision'? I'm not here to say your videos are bad, they certainly are very good at terms of production quality. But some of your points are very weak or outride another category. So this one gets a downvote from me, I'm sorry.

But yeah, most of this clip was dangereous, accident and not funny at all. That quali was also that caused minimum out lap times to be introduced. 11:40 That's essentially a lose/lose situation for anyone in P1 - if they pit, nobody else does, and if they don't everyone else will.

His radio may have been broken, but he also ignored the pit boards, which one could expect a driver should pay extra attention to when his radio is out.

@argh19897 ай бұрын
I get what you're saying, but on the other hand... why not? It's still a huge circus with hundreds of people and tons of equipment travelling all across the globe (in jetliners, obviously). It's a greenwashed version of motorsport, which still upholds an ideology of a mode of transportation, rather than a practical solution. The concept of privately owned cars in cities is either elitist or downright stupid. Besides, the "Last Generation" activists have come up with all sorts of different forms of protests, the goal of which is to maximise attention. So this, as an event right within Germany's capitol city with a worldwide audience, was a prime target. So it makes a lot of sense to me.
@MaggaraMarine7 ай бұрын
The protestors are not protesting the event. They are simply bringing awareness to their cause. This is also why they threw soup at paintings. Think of it this way - it's a big event, so there are a lot of people watching. Sitting on the track (or throwing soup at a painting) is going to get you in news headlines, so it's an effective way of getting attention. Why aren't they protesting stuff that's more relevant to their cause? Well, they actually are, but no one seems to talk about it. So, this is a desperate way of getting people to talk about it. It's reminding people that this is a serious issue that they can't ignore, because no matter where people go, there will be people disrupting the event. I'm definitely not comparing these people to terrorists, but it works with kind of a similar logic - the whole point is that it happens at random. Terrorists do not choose their targets "rationally" - their targets don't necessarily have anything to do with their message. Like, why did the 9/11 terrorists choose the twin towers as their target? And why did the terrorists in France choose a rock concert as their target? Same thing with the recent terrorist attack in Moscow. I don't think the chosen target had anything to do with the reason why they did the attacks. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of this kind of protests. I understand why they do it, but I'm not sure how effective it is. Is it actually just a distraction (especially when the protest has little to do with the event itself), and could there be a better way of doing these protests? (I mean, most of the time when it happens, people aren't actually discussing climate change, but the fact that "the event has nothing to do with climate change - these protests are dumb", so most people are totally missing the point, and the discussion goes nowhere.) But it's a difficult topic with a lot of nuance. I would recommend watching the Just Stop Oil interview on Alex O'Connor's channel if you are actually interested on the topic. /watch?v=44TksbI7faM

One of the stupidest moment happened in Baku 2020, with Hamilton. He was leading the race after a restart, with only few laps to go. But he forgot his "magic button", witch disengage the front brake, and missed the first corner. This dumb mistake made him drop at the end of the grid, lost the victory and he didn't scored any point.
