Hi! Not here to leave a hate comment, love that you’re sincerely trying to support the autistic community. However, I’d really look into Autism Speaks as a ‘charity’. They’ve made some extremely questionable decisions in the past regarding the way they portray autism and autistic children. From what I know they also only spend a little bit of their money on directly helping the community. They’ve been heavily criticised by other autistic creators on here if you want to do a search and find out more. More recently they were linked to/helped influence some extremely damaging and potentially dangerous portrayals of how to “deal with” autistic children in the film ‘Music’. I highly suggest checking out other info online. All the best, sincerely no hate or anything, just wanted to let you know to be weary 👋

@@Mary2227932no worries, it’s understandable to want to trust a seemingly good charity running a fun event. Unfortunately there’s been a few instances of charities being shady, so it’s always good to look into things beforehand 😊 - looking forward to the next reading 👍👍
