debbie9929 You are so right about Amerika; we have seen wonderful places like Sequoia; the Oregon Dunes and sapphire blue Crater Lake; lovely Sedona; enchanting Charleston and Savannah, to name but a few. We had the time of our life in Santa Fe with the Adobe architecture and were fascinated by the arts area with approx. 200 art galleries. Maybe we should keep in mind that although Amerika has all these wonders of nature (did we not fly into Great Canyon ?) it is all in one country, however diverse, while Europe has 47 countries with different languages and cultural heritage dating back many centuries. Yes, we love European art and culture but we also love America and our American friends ❤❤ Erika

There is beauty and interesting things to see most places. It really depends on what you like. I like history, art and vistas. Not interested in modern architecture so things like Big Ben are if no interest to me. But , yes, so much in America and if history is your thing there are fascinating Indian ruins out west.

Debbie9929 As you pointed out, there are many beautiful places of interest, especially if they are combined with art, e.g. the Egyptian pyramids and Kings‘ tombs 2000 years and more; Cathedrals 1000 years old which can be visited still today. There are museums showing century old masterpieces, but I like modern art as well, see MoMA; Berlin Museum Island, and Tate Modern in London (by the way, I would not count Big Ben to modern art, the clock tower is about 600 years old). The ruins of Dunvengan Castle?!!! It is an inhabited, very well preserved castle, with wonderful and well kept gardens and grounds. And it's in the Isle of Skye, yes, but not in Portree. Also, did you say Monsaraz was near the Alviela reservoir? It's Alqueva. So, lovely images, but how can I believe what you say about the places I don't know?
