the difference between a guitar shred solo and a slap bass solo is that, most guitar solos are just incoherent shredding that makes absolutely sense and the only reason they are being played is to show people that you can play it, which is fucking lame. Where as with a bass solo, the bass player is connected to the music and the point of slap bass is to imitate the drums, which automatically makes it better. Also the "Seinfeld" theme song come on, you can't play that on a guitar.
