I paid full price for the S2 when it came out, now the full price of the note3 after 2.5 years. money I save not going on contract was better. Just put a little away as you would if on contract and you end up with more than enough to buy a full price phone. I just pay NZ$19 for the prepay. full price is around $1000. contract is like $130 a month (cost of phone on this plan is $0) after two years you would have paid $3,120 minus the $19 plan = $2664 ? but of course with the $130 plan contract you get a lot more data, minutes ect...which I dont need.

I never say the S5 is better because it's "bigger." I say it could be considered better because of its bigger screen. Totally different thing. A big screen is nice to have. However, a small overall form factor is also nice to have. While screen size and overall device size often go hand in hand, they are still two different benefits/drawbacks. Just take a look at a device like the Moto X which achieves both a large screen size and a small overall form factor and you'll see that the two features aren't mutually exclusive.

I got rid of my iPhone 5sfor a galaxy s5. Best decision ever. My iPhone was so slow and the screen is nowhere as clear is the gs5. Plus the bigger screen is awesome for watching videos. Apple makes a good product, but it lacks customization, and has been the same thing for so long it's stale. It's boring and ios is sluggish.

I can tell you why both of them are pretty bad, easily. iPhone 5S: -Screen is sub-HD -Battery life is terrible for even 2011 standards -No SD Expansion (for the people who need it) -Front Camera is only 720P video, not the best quality -The 8MP camera is fine when it comes to MP count, but it lacks in features. badly. -Screen is tiny for people with even slightly larger than average hands. -So. Fucking. Fragile. -overheating issues, which were supposedly fixed with the original iPhone 5. Not the case -The "multitasking" is pretty abysmal. I wouldn't even call it multitasking -1GB of RAM is not enough for true multitasking -iOS 7 brought pretty much nothing in terms of features, nothing but new icons and animations. -Downloading third party apps and music requires Jailbreaking, therefore voiding the warranty. Not an issue on other platforms, not just Android. -iTunes is needed on a computer, and having iTunes because you HAVE to is stupid. I use Spotify and buy music very rarely. For some people it's nice to have, but the fact that it's forced for syncing things is just terrible. Other platforms, where you only need a functioning computer with a USB port to transfer media is much better of an approach. -Mute button is love or hate. It's nice to have a switch to immediately mute all sounds, but you don't have the option to just use the volume keys. If you don't use the stupid mute button, you CANNOT mute. I hated that when I used an iPhone 5, it drove me crazy. This one is more opinion -On the KZbin app, HD playback on mobile data is not an option, even if you have a great connection. -Speaker is mono and fires down. Need I say more? Galaxy S5: -With a quad core CPU and the RAM it has, especially with the toned down UI, this phone STILL lags. Samsung, seriously?!?!? GET IT TOGETHER, GUYS!!! HTC Sense is much more stylized compared to stock Android, and that never lags. Whatever you have running behind the scenes is killing you. -The speaker is tinny sounding, and small. Decently loud, but small. also, it's on the back, so placing the phone on carpet or a table will muffle the sound. -UI is still cluttered, despite the refreshed appearance. Better, but still bad. Better doesn't always mean good. -Even though 1080P is great for phones, we were all expecting QHD (2560x1440, which btw is NOT 2K. It's slightly higher). It was disappointing, but at least it's HD. -The touch-ID copy is pretty bleh. It works....sometimes. It should work ALL of the time. -Samsung tries to differentiate itself, with the back button being on the opposite side of literally ALL other Androids. It's weird. Both devices are just.... bleh

here's a few reasons why the GS5 is shite * Camera takes ages for the shutter, unless you turn off all the extras. * Video formats now unsupported * Light/flash is dim as hell * Blocking mode doesn't work properly - still get notifications with sound and led & screen still illuminate * No lock screen quick launches * No Lock screen extra page(s) * Switch it on and it keeps reminding you about the back cover * Charge it up and it keeps reminding you about the stupid usb cover * Stupid usb cover is fiddly especially in the dark and with it on wont fit a dock properly - Also heard reports of it breaking off (google it) * Fingerprint scanner is crap locked me out BIG time * Colour is too rich even when set to lowest setting (used a professional photo screen calibration tool and conforms it) * 2gb of RAM (WOW) 80% or more of that is pre used so effectively you get less than 500mb (even if you disable unused apps!!) * Records is 4k (GREAT :) ) but only plays back in 1080p W.T.H? * Not too water proof after all (youtube it) * IR blaster is a pain in the arse gave up with it. * Too many background apps running * Too many forced app downloads - download em and they crap out other apps on the phone * In app drawer when creating folders they can't be added to a page with other apps, App drawer folders have their own page. I HATE IfAILZ but after getting the GS5 pile of poo I seriously think i'll change to apple.

im sure an s5 would be better if i was stuck on a bus in new york or waiting for a plane but literally none of this made me want to go back to android even after useing android for years. iphone its just more simple and straight forward, easy to use, i dont have time to prove how tech savvy i am. i have friends with this phone and they can do some cool shit but when it comes to simple tasks, i phone doesn't waste your time with pretty menu's, keep your s5's seriously i dont judge. coke vs pepsi lol

I own an Iphone 5S.......while i love my iphone dearly, i wish it had some features like the S5 namely the refund option at the app store, photo preview and photo privacy, and power saving mode...hope fully they will include atleast some of these in their future updates in hardware and software.

My 3 top reasons to switch to the Galaxy S5 were: 1- The ability to share a picture to any application (Whatsapp / instagram / etc.) while you are at the gallery and not having to go to the app itself, looking for it and then sharing it. 2- Albums created in Samsung's Gallery based on their source automatically unlike iphone where you have all photos located in 1 album or having to download a 3rd party app to "manually" sort your photos out. 3- Having applications like Dropbox automatically and silently uploading your camera photos to your account unlike iphone where it forces the application to stop every 3 (or something) minutes and you have to open it again to continue its upload. Anyone shares my opinion ?
