We just returned from a fabulous cruise on the Ruby Princess, Alaska had a heat wave, I brought all winter clothes and two pairs of shorts and two short sleeve tops. Skagway was 85 degrees!! I ended up washing my tops in the sink and hung them dry to re-wear. The Inside passage was so absolutely gorgeous, more beautiful than the pictures I've seen. I highly recommend Princess Cruises, we brought our kids and grand children for an epic family trip. Everyone had an epic trip. Our travel agent booked us on the 14th floor just under the pool for a great price.

Don, I just subscribed and absolutely loved your video's. I am so sorry to see you have cancer. My son had cancer..(HAD) as in past tense. He had Superia Vena Cava Syndrome, Heart failure, blood clots and a bleeding disorder along with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. They said he probably would not make it through the night. God saved him and he will you too. He is now 5yrs cancer free !!!! YIPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. You can do this Don. Kickin it on a cruise with a drink by the pool is the way to recover. You are in my prayers

That’s a tough diagnosis, Don, so I’m glad you are hanging in there. From another cancer survivor, give yourself time to both physically and emotionally recover - give yourself a break. Very helpful videos, much appreciated.

I have been on Alaska inside passage cruises twice and here are my tips: 1) bring your allergy meds with you if you are allergic to mold spores or the pollen of evergreen trees, 2) a lightweight, zip-front fleece jacket is a good choice for your outer layer on dry days because the fabric blocks a chilly breeze very well, 3) a lightweight Gortex jacket with removable hood is an excellent choice for keeping you warm and dry on rainy days and will not turn your clothing sweaty the way one of those cheap plastic rain ponchos will and 4) Wal-Mart sells inexpensive work boots or work shoes that have thick soles and good treads and these cost much less the real leather hiking boots from REI but will do just as well if you are not a dedicated hiker and are just going on a few shore excursions.

I have never been on a cruise but have traveled extensively in European countries. I lived in Fairbanks Alaska for several years and traveled around to visit a lot of places, before the pipeline was started. Now it looks very different from what I remember. I am married to a wonderful man, who has always wanted to see Alaska and I am now 65 and I think a cruise would be a nice way to go. Thanks for all your great tips on cruise ships, not just to Alaska, but in general. I enjoy watching your videos and they are very informative! I never considered some of the things you mentioned and would be overwhelmed if I went without listening to your videos! Thank you so much for your time and effort! I am also praying for you to have a complete recovery! I am a Registered Nurse and have seen God perform many miracles for people! Just keep the faith and God Bless!

We flew into SEA airport from So. CA, then took the Light Train to our hotel in Seattle on 8th Street. That was a tremendous amount of walking, the train was full, standing room only (35 min) to Seattle, about 6 blocks to Hyatt Regency. It was hard to navigate the luggage with all the big cracks on the sidewalk and curbs. I suggest getting an Uber or a shuttle from SEA to Seattle. After arriving at our hotel, we walked down to Pike's market. Strong downhill walk, then back up a knarly hill. I'm 66 years old, it was an 8 hour trip from start to finish.
