Very good Lance. I'm agronomist in Brazil, and agree with you the importance of cover crop to preserve soil and increase the harvest.

That’s great, building soil is so important, hopefully more farmers will do this without simply round-up and GMO’s...

Thanks Brian! Myron and his family have a deep appreciation for the soil and to always be learning. Thankful to be learning alongside some awesome farmers! BEST...Lance

It's an amazing practice that nature has been doing since the day after dot. I really wish the farmers around where I live would at least look into it. Seeing bare fields of dirt makes my soul sad... I appreciate the video, cheers mate!!

Awesome that they are using this method, but hope we can all push more people to grow their food locally without unsustainable expensive equipment like those big John Deer tractors.

Well clearly the massive herbicide company's will dislike this. Also the theives which make the fertilizer will dislike this method. I farm 400 ac and have switched, wow the dirt turns into soil fast. However we have a long way to go.

Are they grazing cover crops or cover crop residues? And how much diversity are they at so far? 3-5 way blends or have they gotten over 8 way blends?
@lanceklessigregenerativeag7901

Great question! There aren't any cows on this farm.....yet! Mostly 1-3 way mixes that are mostly comprised of winter cereals though Myron has tried applying cover crops mixes w radishes earlier in fall via airplane. With time I and trying newer techniques (inner seeding and possibly drone seeding) there will be huge opportunities to increasing seed mix diversity and vary the timing. thanks for the questions.

I’d like to pitch this to the farmers farming our land in north eastern MO, what are the simplest cover crops to start with that won’t cause a lot of issues when it’s time to terminate them in the spring?

Cereal rye, winter wheat and triticale are solid options but depends on objectives.

Interested in these practises. Just curious how u get the crop u want to harvest to grow with the competition of cover crop without glyphosate application?. Thanks

So is a cover crop a live plant or the leaves or sown crop laid out on top of a field?
@vivalaleta

It's live. Then you just knock it down and plant through it. That's how to build up your soil.
