Wouldn't really work, GMs can mostly visualize the position without looking at every single piece and square after every move. Some even close their eyes to think at times. If you've ever seen two GMs chatting about a game they don't even need a board, they just say the move notations they did and the other guy immediately knows what the position was like. It's amazing really

Given the amount of thought put into the moves, I would actually be MORE impressed if the game was pre-recorded, and he remembered them all so well (which he probably does anyway) that he could come up with an "excuse" for each move.

@@einemailadressenbesitzerei8816 How stupid. Most matches have only 10 games and it’s plenty to observe a skill difference between players... but for these two we need AT LEAST 50 GAMES to make any judgements 🙄. Are you an IM Rosen fanboy, or what?
@einemailadressenbesitzerei8816
@einemailadressenbesitzerei8816 3 жыл бұрын
@@antichrist.superstar xD. I'm nobody's fanboy. But come on if you take only these 12 games with a result of 5:6 into consideration than Ryan Henry's argumentation is more intuitive than scientific. Yes playing with hikaru has certainly pushed Levy. And yes, sometimes Levy seemed to be superior but in the end it's the result that counts and this says very little at 5:6. It has to be considered in the long run to be meaningful. There are so many factors that play a role, which are only normalized over a certain number of games.
@antichrist.superstar
@antichrist.superstar 3 жыл бұрын
@@einemailadressenbesitzerei8816 Fair enough. Seems like they are both on an upwards trajectory but it seems like Levy has been taking the game more seriously and is improving more quickly than Eric. I think Levy will make GM soon and it seems he wants to. This isn’t based on just this video but all the recent content I’ve seen from both players. Then again, Eric has had some really impressive games lately and is even winning against the current world champ. He’s no slouch either. And he comes up with some of the most creative ideas leading to unique and interesting positions. But If I were betting I’d still put my money on Levy now. If you watch their recent content I don’t thinks it’s a stretch at all to say he’s pulled ahead. But I agree, it’s not scientific... chess at high levels rarely is.

Beginner chess player here, wondering if anyone can explain why at 21.26 he doesn't take the pawn on G7 giving check and winning a rook? Is there something I'm missing here?
