That's a common problem when reading Vega APU usage and there's a setting in afterburner to fix it "show unified numbers" or something to that effect I don't remember.

I see a few areas that can be tweaked to preference 1. Use a 120gb SSD($20) and grab a 1TB HDD(20) used on eBay. Store only re-downloadable games on the 1TB. This will net you alot more storage, as well as let you have a fast SSD to boot from 2. $57 for a 16gb kit of ddr4-2666 online 3. A last-gen ryzen 3 2200g has 4 true cores, and if you can find one used(bonus points if the cooler is included), it would make more sense than the athlon(IMO) 4. EVGA midweek madness has a 600w supply for $30 I know the point is all new, but I don't think there's a really high risk with used if you buy from good places like eBay and Amazon and read descriptions beforehand. Both marketplaces have 30 day return policies outside of individual seller policies.

Toasty Bros, first off nice video. I like a good bargain and it's fun to see what you can do without breaking the bank. However I have a question: you are using an ASRock motherboard that only supported the 3000G after a bios update. Did your motherboard ship with the 3.2 bios installed or did you have to flash the bios? Since this is about as entry-level as you can get I think it's important to know those details for new builders out there. I really want to build a 3400G rig on a B450 mobo so it would be like this machine but would game a bit better out of the box. If I get my stuff on Amazon how do I get it to post the first time? Buy a 200GE alongside it? Can you pay Micro Center to flash it for you?

It did. If you look at the box, it had the 3000 ready sticker. They got lucky. You would have to buy the max version for guaranteed Ryzen 3000 ready

I understand you're thinking about strict bufget in this and many other builds you do. However, why do you not use a ASRock B450M Pro 4, it is $15 more, however the additional features justify the additional $15, a second PCI Express x16 Slot (only at 8x), 4 DIMM Slots instead of the 2, Heatsink on the Mosfets and the addition of a second m.2 for a SATA m.2 storage Drive, This would give you the flexability of using a NVMe m.2 for a boot drive, and the Inland Professional 256GB is my go to budget SSD right now, and then use a SATA M.2 for storage later down the road as the cost for SATA m.2 vs 2.5 SATA is so close in cost and then you don't had to run a SATA cable or SATA power. I really want to build a budget "gaming" PC with this APU, just to play with the low spec parts

Im currently running a 200ge OCed to 3.8 ghz on the Athlon stock cooler, and im peaking at 60°C. Your 3000g at 40C is definitely a freeze compared to mine

A 570 or 580 would work great, just make sure it would fit in the case. We managed to fit a 2 fan 2060 in our Optiplex 790 just fine

You'll need a new decent 500w ish psu for the 580 and 70, or you could find an used 1050ti for under 100 $, same for the rx 580 but you wouldn't need a new psu for the 1050ti, it only draws 75w from the mobo slot

I used this case in my personal build ( Rx 570. Ryzen 5 1600). I had an atx mobo. It was very easy to build in, cable management was also easy. However I had a problem with temperature. I would recommend adding some fans.
