Was the blown cg250 the bike used to have a 167fmm? If it was, can you remember what size was the carburettor you ran on it? I have a 167fmm that came with w pz27, im thinking the carburettor and or jets might be knock off due to having no numbers on them except for pz27 on the side of the carburettor, so im looking into getting a genuine carburettor and judging from how your bike ran before it blew up id like to run the same as what you had, any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Yes I did have a 167fmm before. Ive been running the same Nibbi PE28FL, but when it had the original XR motor I was using a cheap Chinese pz27. It worked okay, it was hard to get the idle right. Would get a sticky throttle if the flange nuts were too tight. And the screw for the choke plate got sucked into the cylinder. The NiBBi carb is much better quality. Has a large thumb screw for the idle and was perfect for the 167fml. When I went to the 172fmm-3a the NiBBi carb needed almost no adjustment. An original Japanese carb will be expensive so that's why I went with a NIBBI. They're much higher end on the cheap Chinese parts scale.

@@GermyBallswell thank you so much for the info, I really appreciate it. Everything you mentioned about the pz27 and the problems you had are the exact problems I'm having except for the choke plate screw coming off, I definitely won't be running that carb from now on, I was already hesitant to keep running it but it is all I have at the moment, as I mentioned I have been looking into getting a new carb I just wasn't sure of what size to get, I have searched for nibbi carbs in the past but no one that I've found stocks them here in New Zealand, only one's advertised as mikuni but look like a cheap chinese version to me, I could be wrong but I'm not willing to take that chance, so I think my only promising option is to order a nibbi from overseas which takes for ever but I don't think I have much of a choice 🤷🤷 I've been very confused as to what carb to run due to all the vague recommendations I've read online, but I would rather choose to go off people like you that have actually used and experienced it first hand. If you have any more tips or advice, it would be greatly appreciated 👌👍 thanks again
