First) It’s not acne, it is Milia. Secondly) A superficial nick of the epidermis layer is one of the ways of removing milia. A little Neosporin or some familiar type ointment and in a couple days... all healed, with zero scaring.

I think we tend to forget how much they are zoomed in on the skin. It's how they are able to find and empty such tiny lesions on the face, and do it without trauma, such as would be done if they had all grown much bigger before being dealt with. I agree at how it appears, the 'fixing of the acne'... most of us are especially tender at seeing a beautiful old person having to 'suffer' for it. As has been explained though, they are just making a superficial nick in the skin, to allow an easier exit for the milia, and tiny white & blackheads. They are more likely to be a benign condition called Seborrheic Keratosis sometimes called age spots. A couple were actually very old Whiteheads that had darker contents where it looked like she might have picked at it and it had scabbed over which was the one Huong picked at. She definitely has a number of different skin issues that’s for sure. I did see at least one that was definitely questionable, but the woman isn’t likely to go see a doctor about it because the health care system is very different especially in a communist /socialistic country where anything other than basic care they have to pay out of pocket and most of the people especially the elderly can’t afford it. This is why Huong tries to help out the orphans , orphanage, and other members of their city who can’t afford going to a doctor for various skin issues like cysts etc. Any money she makes off her channels goes to the orphans, orphanage, and other poor and disadvantaged people. She actually has a few videos in which she talks about it and filmed small clips of her various visits where she, her sons and a few other people go help out and bring gifts , food, money, and serve for for patients and family members who take care of the patient and stay with them while in the hospital. The whole system is very different and I learned a lot from her videos regarding that aspect of life in Vietnam as well as others.

I think that the smaller white “pearls” are called milia and are a little more difficult to get out. But I do have to say that out of all the ways I have watched these spas remove acne and milia and blackheads and whiteheads, this seems to be the least effective and causes the most trauma to the skin. The tech isn’t even slicing the skin open, they’re stabbing and then pulling that tiny poker so hard that it rips up through the skin and it is bending the metal (you can see it happening!!) My question is why not use an actual blade like so many others do, make one cut, and roll them out?? I had to mute it because it made me so uncomfortable. And they’re clearly in a sac (the ones they take the tool around in a circle inside the skin to loosen it and detach it). I know they can’t use all the same procedures as a dermatologist, but this can’t be the best way. - better blade = one cut, less trauma, less opportunity for infection and scabbing - are the dark, large, peeling bumps moles or really large blackheads? She looked like she was going to go for a few of them. - you would think for tougher skin and really hard contents in the pores, they would use some sort of pretreatment to soften the skin up and maybe sit her under a facial steamer to open up the pores a bit. This just looks and sounds painful but the amount of contents that came out was impressive. I just feel bad for her.

If you listen, every once in a while you can hear her snoring. My grandmother would fall asleep while I worked on her face. It relaxed her. Her skin was tough as boot leather and hard to penetrate. The last remaining grandma passed away just 1.5 years after we moved to the US. I got to visit her about 4-5 times, most of which she was fighting cancer. I worked in hospice home health for a while as an adult after seeing what my grandma should have had while she was fighting her cancer. I have a soft spot for grandparents. Painful for her. Painful to watch. How about a soothing facial treatment/massage for grandma. Sure extract the large ones but leave the rest. Some lovely lotion and a suitable foundation, lipstick, light blush. Nothing will totally hide her years of strength and hard work but at least she can feel pampered.

Great video, but I really wish that you would have finished getting the ones in her ears. They were so big, and there were quite a few of them. When you are getting the ones in the ear you should really use a tool, because it would let you extract them easier, and you'd empty them a lot better. I also wish that you'd use an actual blade, so it doesn't rip at the skin so much. Other than that it was a great video 👍
