Thanks for presenting this to everyone! I never realized these were the 1st FoMoCo vehicles to have this feature. Ford seemed particularly fond of concealed headlights after this as many of there models came equipped w/them in the following years till the early 80s.

Hi Adrian, I LOVE your videos mate! I have a soft spot for the Ford hidden headlamp models. They were all so exquisite and still so elegant to this day. The "waterfall" grill of the Cougar is breathtaking. Here in Australia, we made only one model with headlight doors - the 1973-76 "P5" LTD Limousine and Landau. I owned one from 1998 till 2012. Very unique and again, exquisitely elegant.

Wow! Two of my favorites. I built a model of a '67 Thunderbird as soon as it became available, probably in late 1966. It is light blue, and it's around here somewhere. Now I want to find it. I bought a '67 Cougar with the 225 hp 289 and C-4 automatic. That car is long gone. The kid that got it wrecked it in 1980. So sad.

The 1967 thunderbird is a beautiful redesign for the Tbird nameplate. I was surprised how many of the parts for 1967 are exclusive to that model year only and are not interchangeable with the 1968 thunderbird. They look similar but are not interchangeable. I appreciate your videos for their accuracy and detail.

Hello Adrian, I wanted to let you know how much I enjoy your videos. The information is so interesting to me. Lately I have been watching the old TV show "The FBI" streaming on Tubi. Season 2 Episode 14 features a 1967 Thunderbird Hardtop, but at a distance it looks perfectly normal, but in subsequent scenes, it is apparently a pre-production mockup with a 1966 Thunderbird interior, and non-production roof moldings. The episode aired Dec 25th, 1966, but must have been filmed mid-year 66, before final production 67s were available. Give it a look if you have a chance.

A period Popular Mechanics article from that time period listed 1% of Cougar production getting the bench seat (1500ish cars). I've only ever seen one in my life; in a wrecking yard in 1977.

I well remember the thrill of seeing the rear turn signals on the Thunderbirds and Cougars. As those cars aged I remember sometimes seeing those with a non functioning bulb which was sad. I don’t recall seeing what the emergency flashers did.

This is a response to video number nine. Decoding the cars on the showroom floor. This gave me an idea about seeing if an ad I had made a copy of in the 80's of the ad for a closeout sale of 1972 Fords from Capital Ford in San Jose, CA. At the top of the ad they had three leftover 1972 Pintos. Their was a description of one of the Pintos that sounded like it could be our actual car. I couldn't make out the vin from the ad because the copy was made from a xerox copier from back when print clarity was not great. I could see some numbers, though. I found a website that showed how to decode a Ford. I did that and took a chance by ordering a Marti report for that Pinto. I just got my Marti Report back last Friday and low and behold. It is a perfect match. So now I have upgraded to the deluxe report because I want to have the additional information for my parents' car. Thank you very much for planting the seed by video nine and the video of the flipped over Mercury in another video.

67-71 Thunderbird's and 67-70 Cougar's are some of best looking cars Ford made.

I have a question - occasionally I have heard about Ford initial sales documentation suggesting a Ford Torino Boss 429 was an option. Do you have any information to put together a video about this? I remember not particularly being a fan of either of these cars when they first were released. however, over the years I have come to appreciate the beauty of the designs. It's kind of funny but the grill on the T-Bird always seem to be like too big looking. I actually think it looks nicer with the headlight doors open. I did love the rear styling of the t-bird. I think the grill on the Cougar looked better to me just because it wasn't so big and massive looking. Both of them are cars I wouldn't mind owning even nowadays.

in 1987 i bought in arizona a white 67 4dr with a 428,equlock rear end,a/c and all the bells and whistles for 1500 dollars . i got the vinyl roof redone and shipped it to ny in the 90;s. i sold it for 650 dollars to a guy i thought would keep it. he fixed the dented front fender and sold it for 9 g. stupid is stupid does.
