I've been waiting for this next instalment, I guess like the rest of us bikers you've been enjoying the nice weather as much as possible. All of August I have been riding my Fireblade, and I'm beginning to appreciate just how easy a bike it is to ride and therefore your reasons for choosing it for your trip.
@RTWRoxy4 жыл бұрын
Thanks, yeah I've been out on the bike quite a lot the last few weeks and ended up hitting some sort of pause with video editing and was strugglin to get back to it haha! I like travelling on my Fireblade because yes it's easy to ride, simple to work on (old models anyway - I had 2008 Fireblade before and it was an absolute nightmare to take fairings off and put back on) but the old one I can strip all down on the side of the road easily if I have to, in many cases if something does go wrong I can just tap it with the hammer and it goes again (well maybe except electrics that are a bit of a pain in it...)!

You could have rented a royal enfield Himalayan for this adventure .Those bikes are quite adapted and suitably made for those kind of roads. Though sports bikes have high 2500 cc engine capable of climbing mountains but they aren't comfortable in a long journey. Anyway Nice video and scenary.😘

Wow what an epic adventure and that's just trying to get down those roads for a cup of tea ha ha. Thank you! Some of these roads were tricky and for sure helped me to stay awake but not as hard as it seems! Well at least this time I was on a "good" side of the "road" hugging to the wall rather than being on the cliff edge haha.

I'm back home just now for few months and doing all editing now. This video was recorded in October 2019. During 10 months on the road I only managed to edit and upload one or two videos while I was on the road, it's almost impossible for me to edit when I'm on the go.

How does your bike cope with that kind of altitude? Do you feel the power loss, or is it light enough (vs. a car) that it doesn't make much difference at the speeds you were going? Going over 10k ft elevation in my car it felt like something was broken or the clutch slipping.
@RTWRoxy4 жыл бұрын
it's fairly ok up to 4,000m if it's tarmac but if it's gravel it starts to struggle around 3,500m. I did burn my clutch plates at 5,300m high altitude trying to get to the top of Chang La. Sometimes I need to remove my air filter to help it get to the top at this altitude.
@LapoftheWorld4 жыл бұрын
@@RTWRoxy Thanks for the insight! Interesting details and clever trick with the air filter to help it breath. Loving the journey so far, and I hope to visit a few of those countries myself one day.
@RTWRoxy4 жыл бұрын
Wouldn't recomment it though! Imagine all the dust getting straight into the engine. But it helped a lot and my bike is still running fine after some 10-20k miles since then.
