Doncaster market used to be really big and extremely busy and popular with people flocking from all around and even special trips being run . Unfortunately the decline of the high street saw it absolutely devastated along with many areas of the town it's self . Hope you are virus free and enjoying the solitude ( if you can get any ) .

We really enjoyed our visit to Doncaster. We are doing ok during lockdown. I hope you are too.

The moorings are in a pretty convenient location as the market is a little over a quarter of a mile away! From the moorings it is a quick walk past Doncaster Minster across the road past the Premier Inn and a few more steps and you are there! The location of the market is in front of and down the side of The Corn Exchange! I stayed in the Premier Inn last September in a room with a view that looked straight across at the Minster! There is a lovely aircraft museum (which I went to) and a Wildlife Park quite close by! Doncaster is also home to the Avro Vulcan XH558 which is based at the nearby Doncaster Sheffield Airport! Plans are afoot to bulld a new visitor centre to both house the aircraft and tell it's story!

Michael, I'm in the US, and in Maryland. Unusual to see an American on these videos. I've been watching narrow boat videos for a while now, I found your channel from David in Cruising the cut. (love that guy) I just subscribed to your channel, and want to know where you're from. I have at this point only seen a hand full of your videos. I think you do IT work as I do, and you may be from the west coast. Just clues in the videos I've seen. You have a lovely wife that is willing to walk the tow path and work the locks. Lucky man!

That was great. An ideal video to watch as I eat dinner. I noticed Michael steering with his left hand at one point. What can this man not do. I was once on a boat with a righthanded throttle , nightmare. I've never encountered that before or since . xxx

Manys a time I drove over that bridge at Kilnhurst to visit my then girlfriend who lived in Rawmarsh. As children, our Sunday walk was often from Hexthorpe Flatts to Consiborough, then back home on the bus, so I know that bit of the river very well. Even watched them building the Sprotborough viaduct for the Doncaster by-pass.

Thank you for more lovely content, done with your usual care and enthusiasm. Conisbrough Castle is surprisingly interesting, historic and scenic (from the other side) - It's a visitor attraction run by English Heritage. I can remember visiting it in my repping days, some 20 years back on a bright Spring morning, to fill time, as I was very early for an appointment in the area. The castle was pleasant surprise, as I hadn't been expecting much.

Well, I finally caught up with you.(Sort of) Been binge watching since #1. I'm enchanted by the canals, and heard about you guys. A few things... I love Tron. We have it, and Tron Legacy. I'm a tinkerer, too. You did a superb job on you solar panels, and as a boat owner/mechanic, you did a first rate job on the rewiring. The travel video part of the vlogs are great. I'm sooo glad you finally got raincoats. What took you so long? Thanks for your refresher on virology/epidemiology. It's been many moons since I had that course. Hope you guys are doing well during the apocalypse. Clicked on the little bell thingy, so now I can stay abreast. Peace and love, Kevin

Love watching you two! Such a cute couple. We want to buy a narrowboat, but this year seems everybody has the same idea and all the boats we like are sold before we get chance to view them. Do you know anyone who has a boat to sell? Cheers Colette Gore
@MinimalList4 жыл бұрын
Afraid not... most everyone we know is either living aboard and not planning on selling or living on land and planning to move aboard. I’ve heard that Covid has driven up demand a bit, so my best advice is wait till the season’s over in November and check with the various brokerages then... people tend not to buy before winter. Do hope that helps, and good luck with the search! M

Colour blindness is annoying. I once purchased a custom made pair of spectacles, designing the shape of the frame and the colour very cleverly to suit. Sat waiting a long two weeks for my unique visual aids to be produced. Finally, the day came to pick them up and they looked and fitted perfectly with a unique shade of blue. Got them home to proudly show them off and a woman as it is always a woman in these cases said "Why did you choose pink?"

@Idle-Days4 жыл бұрын
@@MinimalList Yes; your master plan for ending it, our government may be interested in hearing that too as they don't appear to have a clue.
@paulbearman46534 жыл бұрын
@@MinimalList I had been thinking about the exit plan which obviously the Government can't really think about yet as we dont know what we will be exiting from - lockdown could be more restrictive than it is now. Your thoughts on the exit plan - the testing and contact tracing that would be required, vaccinations and possible impact on the canal community.
