Exactly like my Deere! Love the thing but i only wish it had a blade that adjusted one side up and down. When i need to make a level area for a car, i use my large landscape bucket, dig down several feet against the hill side, pull out level section of dirt, move over repeat, until i have a nice level area against the side of the hill the excavator can drive on to use the blade for a level surface to drive or park on! If i need to get a wider pad, i start on my new level,surface and then dig down 6-10" and push that dirt off to the right side and visa versa. When finishing the leveling, i normally will go to far end, drop the blade and slowly back up,leveling as i go while watching the dirt build up behind the blade, works for me!! I get a ton of things done with it which includes lifting heavy objects, moving old cars around, dogging up smaller tree trunks, trenching for water electrical and much more away from home! BTW, doesn't look very dusty where you are but i kept getting the red light and buzzer when operating in the 95-102 degree weather! Kept the air filter clean and finally it was suggested the radiator could be blocked! Inspecting it looked just fine but when i used my air nozzle, the dust that came out for a good half hour was amazing, after that I used my water hose nozzle and sprayed until there was zero sign of brown water still coming down from above! Used it for several hours in a row the next day in the heat and no red light! I now use the water nozzle before i start working every day!🎉

@@steelman86 my temperature only get to around 80°. I still get the warning occasionally, I think it is from the floral dander. I work away from home a lot so I have to let it cool down for a while then I finish up and use air compressor also. I'll try the water method before taking to job sites and see if it helps me out. Yes it is a great piece of equipment.

I now have 85 hours on it and can't believe how much I like the 26G. Plan to put up a segment of what I have done with the Hammer attachment. Thank you for commenting

What size buckets do you have? 12 and a 24?
@pelerocks
@pelerocks 3 ай бұрын
Currently I have 3 buckets. The bucket that I use mostly is 34" with no teeth. The other 2 buckets have teeth one is a 24" & the other is a 12". The work that is intended should dictate the type & size to use. Personal preference is also a factor to consider when purchasing. Hopefully this will be helpful. Please remember that I work in areas that are mostly undisturbed lava flow. So a bucket with teeth is not always needed. Thank you for the question and for commenting.

is this bigger than a cat 301.8?
@pelerocks
@pelerocks 2 жыл бұрын
Cat 301.8 has a 21 horse power engine and the weighs 4473 lbs. Max hydraulic pump flow 17.4 gallon per minute, track widths fully expanded about 4'-3" Where as the John Deere 26G is 20 horse power and the weight is 6110 lbs, max hydraulic pump flow 19.1 gallons per minute, track width 4'-11” I did not check digging depth or other aspects but I would say that the John Deere 26G is slightly bigger by the point listed above. I did have to look up this information and I did learn from it. Here in Hawaii I knew I wanted a Hammer attachment and was advised of the minimum size needed which did influence my purchase decision, as well as the price. JD 30G and 35G give more hydraulic flow and a Farrell mulcher can be used with those models but not the 26G Thank you for asking.

What brand and size hammer you got there. I’m looking a 26g myself

The hammer is great out here on the lava. I find that the only thing is that the hydraulic system on the 26G is a little small at 16 gallons flow per minute. If you can get a 30G for a fair price it is basically a 36G with a little shorter reach and you would be able to add the Flail mower attachment, they use a lot more hydraulic fluid flow. A friend made a cup that he adds to the hammer point as to use it to drive metal "T" posts. Best wishes for your purchase, I would say it's like the best tool (tractor, backhoe equipment)I have ever bought. You can only get small kine Flail on a 26G.
DO NOT buy that!
