If Sunday uses ingredients that are organic and safe for the environment, then that is probably the reason why results will not be seen immediately, it takes time, the soil is being fed with real stuff, other synthetic stuff will work almost immediately but is not beneficial to the soil and environment. Organic is the way to go…Thanks for sharing the video!

"Work" is arbitrary. I started using Sunday April 2022 and this will be my first and last year. First, they're heavy into Nitrogen, which gives the grass its green look, which is fine. But look at the back of the label. Using molasses for iron is fine, but at a rate of 0.1% or 0.2% does not make any measurable difference. There was no humic or fulvic acid, which grass needs. It does have micronutrients, but not at the rate that grass requires. It's also a fast release Nitrogen, and when liquid ferts are used exclusively, can produce faster and unwanted thatch build-up, compared to slow release granular ferts. If by having greener grass means "works", then yes, Sunday is a winner. But over the long run, it would be best to learn about macro and micro nutrients, apply rates, your type of grass, and when to put ferts and micros and macros down.

Good points - but I would say that most people who use Sunday are interested more in the safety factor (while still seeing results with their lawn) than any other factor. And certainly people who learn all about fertilizers and agronomy are a step ahead since they understand exactly what the soil needs on their lawn are. For us - it was a nice solution because we are not soil experts, and our primary concern was safety for our family and animals on the lawn. Thanks for watching and leaving the comment. You make some really valid points.

Great video. My lawn is about a third this size. I'm currently looking into an underground sprinkler system (like the Rainbird) and doing all the hard work to get all that properly setup. A company called Chapin makes these HydroFeed canisters that attach to your hose from 16oz up to a few gallons; I'm thinking about using that setup and just cutting the Sunday bags and dumping the contents into one of those and have the treatment administered through my irrigation system. This way, every time I need to treat the lawn, I can just add it directly to my system and have even coverage every time.

Great video. I have not used truGreen, but I use to work for them. I have also used Sunday and I can see the difference between my backyard and front(Only did my back yard to test it out). Does the price of doing it yourself outweigh the price of someone else doing it?

The savings of doing it yourself is certainly nice. I think we saved several hundred dollars when compared to the price of TruGreen doing it.

Thanks! Glad you found our channel. I plan on doing a end-of-season review of the Sunday applications, but I'll give you a quick preview - the product takes a while to start working. After about 3 applications, I could start seeing a difference in the sections of my lawn. Recently, we've been having drought conditions, and now I can REALLY tell a difference. The area of the lawn where I've been applying the Sunday treatment is MUCH healthier than the rest of the lawn. I'm happy with the product and would recommend it. But remember that the results take time. I'm anxious to see how it does year-over-year.

I need some areas of my lawn seeded as I had some trees removed. Can you use this product with newly seeded areas? And how do you feel about the product now? Thanks!
@PurpleCollarLife3 жыл бұрын
Great question. I believe the people at Sunday recommend that you wait until you have the newly seeded area sprouting and then you can apply their product. We did an end-of-year review on Sunday here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jqaaZZR3j76lock And we just recently did a video about Sunday and a new product we're trying called Lawn Cube here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/sIiydaZ-ZrGdmNU I'd say that the results of the Sunday lawn program are good, and that we really appreciated that they didn't use dangerous chemicals. That was important to us as pet owners and parents who use our lawn as a play area.

Hi Adrian - We liked the Sunday Lawn Care system. I did a few other videos about it. In the end - we felt like it was very safe for pets. But it takes longer to see the positive effects in the lawn. AND - since it all requires spraying using the hose, if water levels are low that can be a problem.

Have the Sunday applications worked?
@PurpleCollarLife4 жыл бұрын
That's a difficult question to answer this summer. We have had such a dry summer that mostly only the clover is doing well. I think that our 10,000 sq/ft. section of the lawn that I've applied the Sunday treatment is faring considerably better than the rest of the lawn. But, not as well as when we had TruGreen treat the lawn. However, considering the price difference and the non-toxic factor of the Sunday, we are thinking about giving it another try next year.

Hey purple collar great video I’ve just seen it even though it’s been two years or so…I’m thinking about Sunday for my lawn because I’m in the same predicament (true green draining my green and what not) so I’ve decided to go with Sunday. P. S. - were you in the US Marines- you look very familiar!

@8:04 really 1000X speed? That means every second in real time would be 1000 second in the video time. That means every single second was 16 minutes and 40 seconds. That also means from 8:04 to 8:50 of the video which is 46 real seconds or 46,000 video seconds that is over 12 hours and 46 minutes.
@PurpleCollarLife Жыл бұрын
Excellent catch! I should have said 10X speed. If normal speed is 100%, I set the timing of the replay of that section of the video at 1000% - so that would be 10x "real time". Thanks for letting me clarify.

Since you make it apparent that $ is an object why not spend a few bucks and have your local county extension do a soil test. They are comprehensive and easy to follow the recommendations. IMO there are 2 simple game changers. First use organic Microlife fertilizer out of Texas. 2. Incorporate their liquid bio stimulant applications or if too $ find a good liquid humic and kelp product to routinely apply. Don’t bag your clippings and if you can top dress in the fall with chopped leaves or a quarter inch of good compost. It’s all about feeding the soil not the plants. Without good soil biology you are screwed. IMO your front is a time drain. I would screen the road to cut down on noise and provide more privacy. Thanks for the video. Just giving my 2 cents
@PurpleCollarLife2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! I don't know if our local extension office does that - but I'll look into it. We're not treating our lawn with anything this summer. It's doing really well because of the extra wet spring we had.
@bluejay39452 жыл бұрын
@@PurpleCollarLife Have a great summer! I think the summer is a good time to push the humic and kelp. Definitely helped by TTTF survive heat stresses. Lawn care sucks and it’s a necessary evil so it pays to get the biggest bang for your $. Every extension service provides soil analysis. I’d definitely look Into it. If not , your nearest university can do it. You can save a lot of $ having your test run this way and they are more than happy to help.

Sorry if it was confusing in the video. I thought I explained it. Did something I said make you think that the Get Sunday program was more expensive than TruGreen?
@42swissmocha3 жыл бұрын
@@PurpleCollarLife First of all its not an apples to apples comparison. Tru green is probably applying around 4lbs of nitrogen per 1000 sqft per season. Sunday is applying less than 1/2 a pound of Nitrogen per season. So based on what you are actually applying physically to the yard, Sunday is extremely expensive.

I developed this concept back in 2012 and won awards at NC State University. I have a BS in Turfgrass Science at NCSU and am a NC Certified Turf pro, and Pesticide applicator... With that being said this stuff is fairy dust. I'm not saying that it won't have any positive effects but people tend to get the "warm and fuzzies" when they think they are doing something they consider "better" for the environment. Professional turf fertilizers are better than ag grade fertilizers and have quality slow release properties to help feel your lawn over time, this does not. This also does not kill any weeds or grassy weeds to any real effect either. Fertilizing turf and maintaining a good program is actually beneficial, as turf grass has many positive affects on the environment, including that fact that it is one of the best natural filters of pollutants and runoff. People that wish to "follow the science" need to understand that maintenance is key to any living thing and fertilizers and chemical control, when used correctly is beneficial to the environment. Without fertilizers and chemical herbicides, this planet could not produce the yields of crops to feed everyone! If you have a lawn, hire a professional if you don't feel comfortable. Homeowners often think they are saving money but its usually about the same $ with less effectiveness. Also, homeowners often don't apply at the calibrated rates as professionals do.

@@allisonpoe4040 This is a ridiculous statement, sure it can case cancer but so can eating certain foods and touching certain products. You can't assume the small amount of exposure to fertilizers is linking to cancer. Commercial fertilizer is FERTILIZER! it is just nutrients like food. Nitrogen, potassium, and phosphorous- essential to life and plant biology. Turfgrass is one of the best natural filters, hence why it can be used as a buffer for waterways, it has shown to absorb and degrade high percentage (80-98%) of all toxins.
