I had an ex like John. For 15 years he was always around saying and doing crazy things. Even after dating and marrying someone else he'd harass and aggravate him too. Even after having kids he was still telling people we were soul mates and my marriage would never work because we weren'tmeant to be. He dated others but it never helped. He would drive by our house 20 times a day, sit at the stop sign and stare in my windows. He even bought a house 2 houses down from us. It was crazy. He never truly scared me just creeped me out. One time he ran into the road as i drove through our small town hamlet screaming he loved me and I hate him in the middle of the day with people everywhere. My husband did have to jack him up one day when he touched me in our local gas station. But that didn't do anything lasting. We moved and I've told only family where we are. So we havnt seen him in the last year. Thankfully.

Kids are often scared to death when it comes to telling adults about things like that. They think they'll be in huge trouble for it, so they keep it hidden from them. Especially if the kid has parents who are abusive or they won't believe them.

Same here, but maybe not for the same reason? If kids don't tell their parents important things like that then it's most likely because the parents have made it unsafe for them to do so. So, yes, very upsetting. Be kind, and LISTEN to your kids when they tell you things. Don't make them feel guilty, or like it's their fault it happened, or ask them what they did for it to happen, or get pissed off at them.

The good thing about listening to these to fall asleep is I can listen to them a few times cause i only usually hear the first like 3 stories and still have about 2 hours worth of stories I’ve yet to hear😊

I love all your videos but I especially like the long compilation videos because when I'm working on something I love it as background sound. I listen to the stories and don't have to keep looking for another video in a few minutes. And since it is audio only I can go about my business without having to watch anything. i have an Etsy shop so I am either making inventory or working on listings or something and this is just perfect to keep me entertained while I'm working. And I also turn them on at bedtime so I can listen to the stories while I'm falling asleep. So I, for one, love the compilations, the longer the better!

I use some of his shorter videos top nap in the library. His voice is so soothing, then a few minutes after the video ends my laptop screen turns off and my headphones tell me they disconnected. The voice different from Southern Cannibal to my headphones' voice is so jarring that it wakes me up. To clear up any questions, I'm a well known regular at the library, they know I have to wake up super early in the morning and don't mind as long as I'm not disturbing anyone. I even have a joke with a couple librarians that I'm not allowed to call my spot "my corner" because it sounds really sad. Then when they set up a new reading area in the adult fiction section, they joked they added a special place for me. They'd set up a throne to promote their fantasy books.

It’s cute when stories say, “I know this isn’t scary as many other ones.” Actually they are pretty scary when these stories are so well narrated and described enough to be able to imagine yourself in that situation. The one with the girl at home with her dog and cat. That IS a scary experience, cause you never know what an intruders intentions are or if they have a weapon. These experiences are also educational on what the best action to take should be at that moment. Thank you for the stories Southern Cannibal and story submitters! I do have a creepy story myself that I have been wanting to send in!

I would just like to take a minute to express my appreciation to the author of the story about the anarchist trap house. The story is extremely well written. The smattering of adjectives paints a vivd description of Darryl. Not only Darryl but the anarchist trap house. A perfect smattering, not too many, not too little. Also, the story was.the perfect level of true scary. Not the "dude looked at me wrong, he must wanna kidnap me" rather petty teen entitled drama that's way too common on the horror channels. Darryl was a real creep and you did a great job elaborating how and why. Great story. Thanks for sharing.

I'm glad the dad didn't get in trouble for shooting dude in the leg. In our ccp classes we were told to NEVER chase and then fire. Because if your giving chase it means the threat was leaving. Investigators can tell if the suspect turned quickly and was shot or if you gave chase. And how long the chase wàs.
