I recall in late childhood, the sacred fire being created on Holy Saturday to relight the lamp signaling that the ciborium full of hosts had returned to the altar's tabernacle, a powerful image in a darkened church. For over a decade now, I have lit votive candles for All Saints & All souls Days inside on our home altar and outdoors next to our lichen-covered Japanese stone-lantern standing in for the family graves far away from us. Thank you for this wonderful program.
