(273) Flip and Drag Acrylic Pour Painting

Today I am doing a Flip and Drag Acrylic Pour Painting. This acrylic pour painting tutorial is intended to be an overview of the Flip and Drag Acrylic Pour technique. At first I thought it was more of an aqua green-ish, but the camera does not always capture colours as our eyes see them.

I agree with Chris. To me that is the perfect amount of cells. It's still a soothing painting, but with subtle pops of interest along the harsher lines. Love it!

I like that ice blue!! I wont ever be able to find this again at stores. Guess I'll have to order it from now on... lol. That Mark guy is on point... lol. Bought some rose gold to try... we shall see. I actually like the painting both ways...

@@TracieReed I just got done doing a 30inch in diameter circle canvas... everyone that sees it says it looks like the moon or a pearl.. I did use my blowdryer to blow around the paints, no tilting. Liking that process. Got black plastic up to catch the splashes...

love it! And I do l like the cells. I've used that combo of pouring medium, (no water, though) but never got the cells you did. Curious. I also do not torch it. Love the colors you used.

I love this technique and it turned out gorgeous. I was wondering when you are dragging the cup around, do you just slide along the surface of the base coat? So you would have to be very careful not to push down too hard. I was thinking I wanted to do one where the base colour does not show up in the pour, is that possible?

Thank you Joey. When you doing a flip and drag, you try to gently move it on the top of the base coat(A base coat is necessary for this technique). I can never get this part down lol. The pressure tends to want to push all the paint out. I usually have to just push my cup back through that paint. It still works out though. It's one of those techniques that might require a bit if practice.
