28-06-11 Willies Guzzi

Getting the chance to ride a most outstandingly beautiful bike doesn't come around too often so I jumped at the chance to help a friend out and take his bike home for him!
It's a 1995 Moto-Guzzi 1100 sport -"Phat Girl"

Thank you again for picking up my "PhatGirl" Peeteey :) (and Kiwi) I'm so glad to have her home after the accident, looking forward to healing up so I can start riding her again(may be a few weeks yet), but its just nice to have my baby back in the garage again. Oh man, PeeTeey, that thing looks and sounds AMAZING! They have such a cool distinct look and sound. I can imagine that was quite the trip~ Ordering a petcock tonight and that should be it to get my XS750S up and running. Already missing so many days waiting! It's drivin me nuts!

Enjoyed the ride home footage. You're a good friend for getting her home safe. I was first smitten by a Guzzi about ten years ago, which was a 1000sp owned by a girl with long hair and long legs. 5 years ago I got a '75 850t, then 3 weeks ago I found a superb '03 Le Mans. Funny thing, they both have a couple false neutrals. I wonder if Italian cars have them too?

A friend of mine has a 75 850 guzzi that has been bored out to a 1000cc. The bike screams. I love driving it. I could own one.

Hejj, Thank you for sharing this film on youtube! You described the same feeling as I had the first time I drives it! I had one from 2004 till 2007. Still regret that i had to sold this Guzzi. Was the best / nicest motor I ever had.

@NZNeon You've gotta hear it in person! He parks this next to his new bosses office. New boss's first day, Willy starts his bike, boss just about loses his Colon and is about to jump under a desk when co-workers mentioned it's not an earthquake, just Willy's bike! The sound is HUGE! But not 'overly' loud, just biiiiig and fat. Was an absolute dream to ride. As soon as I sat down on it for the first time I knew I was starting a new addiction :D

Moto-Guzzi Sport 1100 is the best freaking two wheel machine on earth...Been riding Spine Frames for 20 years, The early Carbie Sports (round hole in the sideplates!) are the best....torque, power, stability, ruggedness, and they have the BEST looking bodywork ever mounted on a Guzzi...its everything you need in a "street" sport bike that will last 100k miles and beyond, and still look hot 20 years later. I will DIE before I ride anything else!!!

Cheers man, I like those Le Mans, they're 1100 right? I wonder if they're similar to this one? These guys, or Italians in general it seems, tend to do things their own way! Makes for some interesting and unique vehicles. I never understood the Italian bike thing until I rode this one ...

I would imagine the engine's are similar. Your mate's 1100 sport is mid 90's? Both square head 1100's. I'm still changing shock and fork settings, as the previous owner had them set quite hard. The Le Mans only likes wide open roads with moderate curves. I guess the moderate curve thing speaks more of my limitations as a rider than the bike's preferred environment.

as an italian, i have mostly criticism for guzzi but i have to say, with the 1100 sport they really got it right. AND OF COURSE they stopped making it, but thats just guzzi for you.

@IgkuitBBswm Yea man, this bike is a stunner! You gotta feel it, it's like it's tickling your pleasure centres in your brain from the inside :D I've never understood the appeal of Italian bikes until this day. Good luck with the XS, I don't like it when my babies are out of action ...

Yep, I reckon this Guzzi, which Willie has had to sell sadly, is one of the sexiest bikes ever and it was soo much fun to ride!

I wish! It went for a really good price too but I'm broke! He was also forever fixing something, pulling something apart or ordering new bits. I just don't have the time or the cashflow for a bike like this. Not saying I wasn't outrageously tempted ...

Hejj Peeteey, Beautifull....! I stell have a moto Guzzi: it's a "Moto Guzzi V50 nato". The dutch armee had bought this 1200 ex 1984 till 1986. It's a 500 cc with the gearbox from a 350 cc so you can also drive "easy" in the sand. Also the valves are a little bit different so you can drive on "bad" petrol (ron 88) But if I had the money again: Moto Guzzi 1100 sport!
