The only comment I have about this would be, when using css grid or boot strap or flex box etc... the divs are necessary when you want to position a group of elements that is contained inside a parent element from left to right without using the css float rule... you are right that your markup shouldn’t be congested but depending the type of css library your using will determine your reliance of the div element

What about Bootstrap? You do have a lot of DRY and Divitis when implementing the classes.
@Dani_Krossing
@Dani_Krossing 6 жыл бұрын
Interesting question, and you are right about Bootstrap having these issues. Which is also why I don't use Bootstrap myself. Here is an article that explains a bit about the issue you pointed out with Bootstrap: blog.kellishaver.com/i-dont-love-bootstrap/
@SolidousMdz

Exactly, it is a double-edged sword, BS4 makes it really easy in one side, but its a much bigger html code in the end. Still on topic, does the new grid system adds a lot of "Divitis" too? You need rows and cols there each on its own div right?
@Dani_Krossing
@Dani_Krossing 6 жыл бұрын
No CSS Grid does not cause divitis :) In my video on it i used a lot of divs to explain CSS Grid, but you can use all elements as a grid item. So don't let yourself get confused by my video.

The odin project would strongly disagree lol then argue with professors how the prof. Is wrong Although if you wanted to seperate the title and the paragraph in the same class you now have to identify the element in the class making css longer and more convoluted ( according to the odin project)

but isnt the dev for like the original background of a certain paragraph , like if we targeted a text inside html with css and set for it a background wouldnt get weird and limited background just for that text ?:forgot about the interrogation xd , but if we targeted whole section that contains that text like inside dev the background will cover all space for that text

Hello. I can't wait for your next tutorial! Really love the job you are doing. Meanwhile I am trying to create a custom PHP blog CMS to create posts but I am having issues with one thing. I would like to use some WYSIWYG to create the posts. I also want to insert some images that then would be stored in a database. The problem is that when i want to fetch those images I would like to be able to style them dynamically using CSS classes. How could i achieve that? Would you be able to do a tutorial on that?

What about BEM methodology , do you find it useful ?
@Dani_Krossing
@Dani_Krossing 6 жыл бұрын
Interesting you brought it up. I did consider including it :) While BEM is interesting to look into, I am hesitant to do a video on it this early on to not confuse or overwhelm people who are completely new at HTML and CSS. This early on I think it is more important to create and practice HTML and CSS, before getting picky about CSS methodology. By that I don't mean that naming CSS methodology isn't a great thing to learn, because it definitaly is, but I just think it is too early for that since it isn't really "required" :) If I had to include anything similar in this specific video, it would just have been about naming conventions of CSS. Like don't create class/ID names like this "bannerImg", but instead like this "banner-img"...
