It must be a problem with your headset. The astro a40 is one of best you can get. You should be able to hear everything Crystal clear I am about to upgrade to the 2019 astro a40s myself. I currently use sony wireless platinum and picked them for the 3d 7.1. There very good and it's easy to tell exactly where people are. But there very uncomfortable There might be a problem with your hearing or your headset. Your using one of the best headsets you can get
