Just wanted to say that your previous video of the MRG Frogman was the reason why I bought one, Just came in yesterday, and I have not rotated off my wrist yet. Great videos, and thanks for the insight!

ah thank you.. For me the MRG Frog is one of those watches that will stay popular and be a collector favourite in my opinion.
@l34dboyАй бұрын
Your videos have been really interesting, keep up the great work! It's nice to see someone speak very candidly about the MR-G lineup as there's not much content out there on these particular watches. I have slowly moved from the 'traditional' G-shocks to replacing my whole collection with MR-Gs. I only have a few 'traditional' G-Shocks remaining in my collection like the FROGMAN D-1000B, FROGMAN A1000 ROYAL NAVY, GRAVITYMASTER GPW-1000KH, MUDMASTER and RANGEMAN TLC EDITION among others. I am now on my 7th MR-G, most recent purchase being the MR-G FROGMAN BF1000B (Red and Black bracelet version). This is in addition to the MR-G FROGMAN BF1000E (Yellow AKA Bruce Lee Anniversary Edition). You are the reason I am now going to purchase the original blue MR-G FROGMAN you speak about regularly on your videos to make it a set. I hope you get the yellow one you're after as well. For me the MR-G FROGMAN is the ultimate due to me preferring bulky and garish watches. Please keep up the G-shock/MR-G content as I've really been enjoying them!

You have the BF1000E the yellow MR-G Frog and this is the one I have missed so far and I think the one to have. I've actually just done another video and I tale about the yellow again and reading you message it makes me think more about the yellow 🐸... I have to dash now but I will message again as you make some very good points.
@l34dboyАй бұрын
@@masterwatch Yes, I bought the yellow one first then got the red one. I have bought the blue one but I'm yet to receive it, it's currently being processed through customs in London. Fingers crossed I avoid customs charges! The yellow one is by far my favourite G-Shock by a country mile, they nailed the colour scheme and design. I love the gold, yellow and black detailing. You were the one who convinced me to stump for it after seeing your videos at the G-shock Carnaby Street store. It'll be the one G-Shock I don't think I'll ever sell (unless values go stupid on it). The Red version is more understated with the black engraved letterings, rather than coloured like the other two MR-G Frogmans. This would probably suit more formal wear possibly. I noticed you uploaded a video talking more about the MR-G Frogmans, not had a chance to watch it yet as I've had a hectic couple of weeks. I've been following the pricing on the yellow version and the they seemed to have jumped in value quite a bit over the last 6 months on Chrono24. Are you on any G-Shock forums by any chance? I'm quite active on the Facebook ones, made some good friends I there through trading G-shocks. By the way, I love your home!!!

@@l34dboy I have had some fantastic Frogs 🐸 and I regret selling them and not making a video. What I may do is collect all my photos and put together a video montage of all the models, that could work. Right now I am so busy every spare moment I have I only seem to be able to look very quickly at social media so I am out of the loop with forums really.

Even though I don't like myself cause I'm saying this, I agree how it's not a bad idea to have something not for wearing, just to look at it...I got my Casio F91W in the box, unopened, almost a decade, to me, that's a pure masterpiece. I don't know how it's possible to put that ''smart'' thing in the same sentence with any Casio, especially with the MRG. From the standpoint of the user, every single MRG is just a collectible item, since the usability is zero (if you make a scratch, goodbye nice MRG, game over), and that's not what I want from the G. Don't get me wrong, they are absolutely beautiful, beautiful little monsters, but I like something that I can use without any fear, and to be honest, if I change 2 watches a day, it would take me more than a month to wear every watch that I got (but I'm giving my best) Oh yeah, I got the golden MRG-1 and I'm absolutely terrified to wear it...that thing is a real breed apart, even though it's almost 30 years old.
@masterwatch2 ай бұрын
Oh wow the original MRG-1 that is a collector's piece big style. I do understand wanting to be careful with MR-Gs they do make you think twice before putting them on to do a manual job. I think we are going to see more MR-Gs and a new digital Frogman..
@thehornedviper2 ай бұрын
I really love how that Frogman looks! The chunky, oversized hands and colors are so lovely. I would certainly prefer the blue model you have over the yellow anniversary edition because the color palette is more reminiscent of the natural sea and calming, while the yellow has more of an industrial, pipeline construction, almost urban aesthetic. But both would definitely be nice to have. I feel the Frogman model might not really live up to the price, though, if you look at it solely from the perspective of wearing the watch instead of collecting it. I think the real star here is the black MR-G square as you say, and it's probably the star of the entire MR-G lineup. That watch is historical, finely designed and constructed but subtle, almost mysterious.
@masterwatch2 ай бұрын
I thought the same when I first got the blue MRG Frog as I thought the strap and colour was more wearable but after a while I realised that having also the yellow (with additional bracelet) would work also as the bracelet also works on the blue as the gold lock button matches the gold on the dial on the blue. Details, crazy details we see hey. I have a feeling a new digital frog will be released also so I am very excited to see that.
@l34dboyАй бұрын
@@masterwatchThere's a lot of chatter about wanting a digital version of the MR-G FROGMAN so it makes sense of Casio do bite the bullet to meet the demand. For some reason I highly doubt it'll happen, unless you've heard something we haven't? I'm more of an analogue guy so a digital MR-G won't appeal to me anyway, however it'll be very interesting to see. There's a KZbinr who drew up a concept D1000 MR-G and I think he's bang on the money if it did ever happen! Have you seen it?
@masterwatchАй бұрын
@@l34dboy I will look out for the KZbin D1000 MR-G is it Design Atelier ? it is the sort of thing he would do and he's very good. My opinion is we will see a new digital 🐸 but likely to be a GWF-D2000 a new normal metal case version I would have thought. If they were to release a MR-G of the D1000 that would be so cool and right up there with my desire for a MRG-56 MRG-King.
@l34dboyАй бұрын
@@masterwatch Yes it is design Atlier, you're correct. I actually have a D1000 for sale in brand new condition, they just don't seem to appeal to me unfortunately hence getting rid; I prefer analogues. Although it would be interesting to see how they would design a potential D2000. I've always found with newer iterations of watches (ie Mudmaster GWG1000/GWG2000, GRAVITYMASTER GPW1000/GPW2000), they have always seemed to go backwards. But then a lot of people would probably disagree with me?

@@DiegoIrving2 the negative display on the silver cornflake is ok as I think the displays in all the GMW displays have been upgraded and I noticed the module numbers are different on the newer models. I don't know if that has anything to do with the display but it might be a reason.
