We need to see 3 units up against each other to see who’s actually closer to the data. Can you do a Protee vx vs Eye xo va track man.. People are complaining about shot distance well three units can’t be wrong. Two should be close to each other and we’ll get to see who’s out to lunch..

Thanks for the video! It is super interesting, I have the Skytrak + and I have the same missed shots on short stuff. Especially if you try to hit it high with a wedge.

Fantastic review as I’m looking to replace SkyTrak with VX. Totally agree that SkyTrak struggles with high loft shots. One small thing when you say SkyTrak isn’t reading side spin on 2 of your wedge shots, it is. It won’t show a figure less than 200 but shows arrow to indicate direction of side spin. You can see it on the golf ball on your screen.

That was very insightful, thanks for the review. Makes me want to upgrade my skytrak even sooner now. Any chance of a review comparing the club data to another higher end product such as the Eye XO? would love to face face angles, AOA, club path, dynamic loft etc go head to head. Thanks.

For a high lofted club you should place the ball AHEAD of the red dot not behind for the Skytrak. Been using the ST for a year and thinking of the Protee so trying to see all reviews. I 'feel' the ST is incredibly accurate for ball flight and shows what I feel I have done with the shot. Hence, a bit worried about the Protee now seeing so much discrepancy between the two. Edit: Though when I see the contact videos I think the Protee is correct

The ST is a great machine for its price and for a single dexterity floor model but there is a difference in shot shape vs the VX because VX understands where on the face of the club you made contact, while the ST only measures the side spin of the ball. Gear affect is not taken into account with the ST.

@@leosgolf I thought that the ball flight is determined entirely by direction of launch and spin imparted, and that even the gear effect is due to the spin imparted on the ball. Anyway, ordered one yesterday. Cant wait.

@@deepakvrao you are correct but the actual path relative the starting point or angle changes due to where the club has stricken the ball and the angle it came from is something a ball only (Skytrak) can’t reference.

I have a ST+, placing the ball forward of the laser for high wedge shots do not always work.

LEO great video !!! currently own the PROTEE VX. Could you do a Video on actual VX setting. my carry distance are similar to yours . My Normal carry for a 7I on a out door range is 145 to 150 YARDS . With the VX my carry is125 not what i expect for the Protee VX Sim . would like to know how to increase my carry distance. i have try increasing elevation setting but does not change or very little. FYI i am at sea level here in Virginia. 60FT

Hello @Malmo1412 and thanks for watching. I have not found any issues with the distance the VX reports and the camera view often validates why my shots are doing what they have done (eg. fat into the mat or thin bottom shot). When you play sim golf, the software will often build in a factor for elevation and situation on the course (GS Pro for instance displays RAW vs Game numbers). You can play in force realistic or modify settings. In TGC2019, there is a .txt file where you can modify settings that get passed through to the game as well. Again as for the ProTee Labs range, I am happy with the data I'm getting as it reflects my outdoor play/distances/shot shapes. If you are new to a simulator setup, do Google search for info on "Indoor Golf Swing Syndrome" as its interesting and explains what happens to golfers adapting to indoor play.

I’m having the same issue, my irons are 3 clubs off, driver is 20 mph off with protee vx.

@evenboardash8580… I wrote previously about Indoor swing syndrome and the other factors I’ve seen time and time again affect how people play indoors. Another big factor is the mat or hitting surface they hit off of. I guarantee you that if you were to take two or three different mats and take 10 shots with each, that you’d see huge variances in the shot if using the same ball and same iron. Some mats are very grabby when you dig into them where others will cause the club to bounce and you’ll see huge differences in the shot contact point, and therefore distances and directions.
