🐎🌹Your story touched my heart about the little girl and roses being handed out. Hearing such things is medicine to the soul. ☺️ I love watching the Derby. I do so every year but not for all the fanfare…I watch the horses. I love horses and do my best to study them to pick the winner. I told my husband it’s not just their demeanor but the spirit they exude; that look they have in their eyes! Ive been pretty close and even picked the winner at times. This year my pick came in 4th. Lots of work cleaning their stalls feeding & grooming cleaning their shoes but looking into their eyes & their soft velvety mouths made it all worth the time. Another great story G Pat told with ♥️ Try potato pancakes leftover mash potatoes with grated onion & sharp cheese salt pepper any seasoning1 egg with 1/2 cup of Bisquik Fry in your cast iron pan. So good!

I just watched your Run for the Roses video on Sunday morning and I thoroughly enjoyed your story! I’ve never been to the Kentucky Derby before, but I’ve seen some of them on TV. One thing I can tell you about my mother is that she loved watching the horse races on TV when the Derby rolled around each year. She grew up “in town”, as they say, as opposed to in the country. At 19 she married my dad, who was a country boy through and through. I imagine in their dating days and early married life, she spent a lot of time at the farm where my grandma was still living, so perhaps she developed a fondness for horses at that time. I’ll never know because she never talked to me about it. But even as a young girl, I remember thinking it was so odd that she liked to watch the Derby races…..🧐 I didn’t realize you had a May birthday, so I’d like to send my belated birthday wishes to you…😊 ❤-Brenda
