Andy you just made me remember something... I once learnt that light gets bent when it passed through a gravitational field. To me it didn't make sense then because light (photons) had no mass and therefore shouldn't be affected by gravity. I asked this to my physics teacher and he just brushed me off. For those curious enough, the reason why light bends around a gravity field is that a gravity field actually curves space time itself (the path that the light travels in). So the light doesn't really bend it is just that the road it travels in is already bent. From the lights perspective, it is travelling in a straight line. But since the fabric it is travelling in is bent, it follows the fabric. That is the best explanation I can give on text.
