The swing doesn't make or break a player. It's the consistency and buy-ins that are important. There are hundreds of thousands of guys with fundamentally-sound swings but many lack the discipline and confidence to compete. You won't dance if you don't make it to the party. Thanks man!

Look where your divot is on your first practice swing . It was in the perd ct spot but when you got on the ball it was 3 inches farther than the FRONT of your divot. You should place the ball at the back of the divot

There was no pressure on the practice swing. Pressure is a nasty unknown variable.

You need to move the ball back in your stance.

I've tried. That's not the issue.

@@ILUVGOLF that's one of the issues. There is a reason every pro plays most irons center of their stance. The swing is an arc meaning the bottom if the arc is always going to land in the middle of your stance. The only way you can properly hit down and compress the ball if you have the ball in the front of your stance is to move that bottom part of the arc forward meaning your body actually has to move forward which is not good. Put the ball in the middle of your stance and make a solid turn ON TOP of the ball. Also, stop being so fucking hard headed.

@@ILUVGOLF just because it doesnt fix all your issues doesn't mean you should keep doing the wrong thing. You have a ton of issues that need addressing and I think you should seek out a golf professional

I appreciate your advice. I'm learning at my own pace. I played baseball for 33 years and discovered things through hundreds of thousands of swings that MOST professional hitters/hitting coaches haven't figured out, because they haven't taken the time to figure out new ways. They have followed someone else's advice. Here's the proof: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gWPZhGdme9yIq9U I went beyond what most hitters do to discover gems. I will do the same in golf. I will practice so much that I will discover new tips and techniques. In order to do it correctly one must do it wrong. Moe Norman was not the prototypical swing yet he discovered things that nobody else has. I'm doing okay considering the ball is forward. Stay tuned. It's going to get better.

@@ILUVGOLF ok man. I can see the type of guy you are. A hard headed know it all. The guy who know tips and tricks that nobody else knows. In a sport that's been around for 100 years you sir are going to crack the code by doing something nobody has ever done. There is a reason pros have certain things they all do. Because there are people that have dedicated their whole lives to studying the golf swing and teaching it but you, a guy who's been playing for a few years with a day job is going to figure out things nobody has before. Humble yourself and go see a pro. You're doing thing incorrectly and when told the correct way you just say no I'm doing it my own way? Ok good luck man...and by the way, its physics. Bottom of the arc is lowest point in the swing and that happens in the middle not in front...

You put the ball too far out front for your irons . You wouldn’t pull as much and you’d hit the ball w more backspin if you put it a little farther back

Hey BG, discipline is the missing element. It's not ball placement. I am bowing my arms and hands at the top. It's similar to kinking the water hose when the water is flowing. I need to un-kink the hose (arms) at the top to eliminate the pull. That is the reason I do that weird routine before I hit the ball. My baseball swing just doesn't want to give in. I played baseball for 33 years and golf for 6. I am lacking discipline which can only be learned through hundreds of thousands of repetitive movements. Same goes for my putter. I haven't established a consistent foundation which means that I'm only doing what feels right. Water always finds the path of least resistance. We are made of water so eventually I'll find my way as I progress. Thanks for tuning in.

HOOA Golf if you think it’s just mental you should look at Ernie Els and Nick Faldo on the mental dos and don’ts . It helped me w confidence a lot

I'm doing that on purpose to get rid of the "over the top" swing. It'll be awhile until it is right but it's coming along nicely. My game management is more important right now.
