When Moses asks the Lord at the burning bush, “who should I say sent me?” And the Lord responds by saying, “tell them the I AM THAT I AM sent you.” It’s a name of promise, power and faithfulness declared by the very mouth of God. And when the God of the universe, all encompassing and all knowing… the I AM THAT I AM… says something, he means it. Hope that helps unpack that lyric. It’s such a powerful declaration.
