At first, I was annoyed that the Deflector Dish was separated from the hull. I felt like it should have been integrated into the saucer, like the NX class. However, after I watched your video about the purpose of this vessel, I understood. It makes it simpler to test different Deflector configurations if it's separate. Nice ship.

my real estate agent was really at a loss when i kept telling her - NO - show me a Tudor!!!! (ok that was a long way to go for that joke, but this is the only kind of stretching i get in nowadays)

What makes it look awkward is designers cling to saucer shapes like some bizarre phallic symbol. A more stream lined approach would've done this vessel more justice and you could slap a Federation insignia on it so you don't forget its Starfleet.

LOL It doesn't look ackward at all... Just because you don't like something doesnt make it awkward or a "bizarre phallic symbol" The fact that you would think that, instead of the true purpose, that of tradition, says a lot more about you then it does the design! You just don't get it!
