This is your honest feedback and you own the machine and have used lots of other machines. I did demo the 259d3 before I got the Bobcat and it was pretty smooth, but I agree with you on the tracks, glad I got the CTL, just as smoother overall. Thanks.

You can go in there on your screen and reduce the sensitivity if Jerky I always turned Monday on unless I'm out running around wide open in a field moving dirt with a bucket

A lot of little things can add up to a large pain in the patootie. In my opinion, having a rough ride is the biggest problem you mentioned, accessibility for maintenance is a close second. Hope you have a good day.

I have one of those I use for work it totes Big brush cutter made by cat and it's close cap with air and it arrives like a Cadillac now given it's 4 years old now and probably doesn't have 800 hours on it and it's on its 2nd set of tracks because we cut one and a 1/2 running up on a trailer with a bent finder but I absolutely love that thing

That’s a bummer about the tracks coming loose so often :( my friend has a cat 249D and when I played around with it same thing buddy it felt very jerky... and the cab was also sooo small.. great honest review tho man. Keep up the great work!

Thank you. I mainly made the video to see if other people had similar problems. It shouldn’t be that way coming from such a big company like CAT.

Hey Steven, have you looked at or used an AWS skidsteer like the A770, A300 and A220 from Bobcat? Thanks for your honest opinion!

Preston Faust I have. They’re pretty neat, but very expensive.

Is the cabin quiet like they say or is it load ?

It’s pretty average among skidsteers in my opinion

And we never have to tighten our tracks unless we take them off

I have a Cat 247B3 MTL and haven't had any problems with loose tracks. I don't recall the exact spec, but it should sag about 1 inch with 100 lbs of weight in the unsupported area. I have owned it for 2 years and put about 200 hours on it. It now has about 1900 hours. Like you, it is used on weekends to clean up personal property. Maybe this video will help with releasing the aux hydraulic pressure. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qXLNgnudZdh6jqc

I’m not a fan of the ASV undercarriage either.

So, you say tightening the tracks every 6-8 hours ??? If you have 1725 hours on the machine that would be 1725 / (lets use an average of) 7 hours = 246 times you have tightened tracks. Then lets say you moved the turnbuckle 1/2" each time that equals 246 X 1/2" = 123". That's over 10'. Even if it only moved 1/4" that's still over 5' of travel. Give us a break. Your comment lacks credibility.

We didn’t buy it new. Haven’t put a ton of hours on it. At this point we’ve said screw it and the tracks generally run a little loose and they pop some. Not trying to be rude; but before you attack someone you can ask questions that way you don’t end up looking like a dummy.
