Things I've learned: - Stop comparing yourself to other people. There will always be someone who is better than you at something, and there will always be someone who is better than them at something. It's just how it works. That doesn't mean you can't be amazing at something, and you are better than someone else at something. (hopefully that makes sense) - You are pretty/handsome/cute. There WILL be a person who thinks so. Honey Booboo's mom got married. A lot of the time there's people who like you but are too shy/scared to say it. - Treat your body well. Don't hurt yourself. You don't deserve it, and please listen to your friends/family. When you get your life on track you will get it. Also, it's okay to fuck up. There's nothing wrong with you, you are human and humans make mistakes. Like, a lot of them. - Please eat. Being skinnier does not make you more attractive. It makes you extremely unhealthy, insecure, and can give you further health problems in life. Making yourself skinnier will not make you better than anyone else, and you should NEVER lose weight for anyone else. - If you're depressed, get help. Trust me. It will probably suck in the beginning. It's difficult to talk about your real feelings, and therapists can be annoying. But once you get your life on track, you'll be happy to be alive and you can be in that relationship or friendship you always wanted. You'll see yourself the way other people see you, instead of feeling down and insecure all the time. Just trust me. Get through the bad parts and you'll be so happy. - Wear what you want, whether it's barely anything or covering up everything. If it makes you happy, wear it. Dress in victorian clothes if it makes you happy. It will improve your self confidence so much. - Please keep up in school. It may not seem like a big deal to you now, but it can affect the rest of your life. Do your homework, study for tests, but don't overwork yourself and it's okay to ask for help if you need it. - Do things that make you happy, no matter how dumb they may seem to other people. Nothing that makes someone happy is dumb. Listen to the bands you like, knit a sweater, bake, anything.

A few things I've learned over the past 23 years.. *Don't take your cell phone on rides. You think you're gonna get a cool selfie but ITS NOT WORTH IT. It will fall out of your pocket. It will smash into tiny pieces. *Don't ride two razor scooters down a hill like a pair of skiis. You will do the splits. You will fuck up your face. *A guinea pig will die if it eats paper towels. Sorry Tanya. *Being yourself is so much cooler than fitting in. Especially if you're a super nerd who prefers video games to partying

I’ll be 29 in a couple months. I’ve been watching Jenna since she started her channel 15 years ago, when I was 14 or so. I miss her a ton. I guess it’s weird, but I definitely did have a parasocial relationship with her. Between absorbing her content from her channel and the podcast for 10+ years, she really felt like a friend. It’s hard to lose a friend, but it makes me happy to know that she’s still around and hopefully way less stressed out. I miss her, but as I get older, I understand her decision to leave more and more. It would be brutal to be under a microscope for 10 years. I hope she’s relieved and happy. Thank you Jenna ❤
@fatbritneyspears10 ай бұрын
When she made this video, I would have been 20, watching in my dorm room. 20 was not an easy year for me. Jenna always made me feel better about aging and made me feel like things would get better as I got older. And they did. I wish she was still making these videos, or maybe I could ask her for 37 things she’s learned in 37 years. I never had an older sister or someone I looked up to and I guess she kind of was that for me. But I am so grateful for the lesson that she did teach me: stay true to yourself, to the weird little guy you were when you were 13, and life will take you where you’re meant to go. And even her leaving the platform is a huge lesson in boundaries, in doing what is right for you no matter how many people feel disappointed. Their disappointment is their problem. Your sanity is your responsibility. Thank you for everything Jenna!!!

My husband just died September 5th, and a lot of these made me think of him. Saying yes to something you'd particularly not want to do is definitely one of them, because I am so thankful for all the memories that were made because I chose to go out, hang with family, etc.. That one is very important. Thank you for the advice. I'm 26, and he was only 25... Trying to put out positive energy, but losing a spouse... Yeah, it's hard to look at the positives right now. @kelseykramer17839 жыл бұрын
Tiffany, I just read a book called "Tuesday's with Morrie" which is a book about powerful life lessons. Morrie, the fellow the book was about, was dying of a disease but he said to himself that he'd live the rest of his life to the best of his ability, even if that meant taking a few minutes in the morning feeling sorry for himself. What I think he means Tiffany, is that it's ok to not feel good now. You can try to stay positive, that's always a plus, as it's good to be grateful in life, BUT it's also good to mourn for your late husband. You're allowed to cry to your hearts content because you miss him, do in the morning and feel horrible and then let it pass, and then continue on your day to the best of your ability knowing he'd want you to continue on with life. I just say this because I think people deny themselves the ability to feel bad, when really feeling sad is part of the healing process. Best of luck

I'm also 29 and have been reflecting on my life pretty hardcore lately. I was thinking that I should've been better off by now (have a great job, have my own house instead of always renting, have a wife, have kids, etc). I often feel like I'm not good enough compared to others but what you said at the end made me feel a lot better, "You don't have to climb a ladder, you don't have to compete with people; just do the best that you can and that IS good enough." :) And I totally agree with what you said about valuing conversation and staying up late for people. I've always done this too but it seems like there are few who feel this way. You know what Jenna? You're a good gal'. ;)

@@SpeedBead Yep, 36. Thanks for asking. Ultimately my overall situation hasn't changed too much, however, perhaps partially due to this video (which I totally forgot about), I'm still grateful for everything I have experienced and do have. I just got into a major car accident yesterday and was hit by someone running a red light. But despite it being a head on collision from a truck at 50 mph that totaled my car, I only have some cuts and bruises but no broken bones or permanent injuries! So I'm just grateful that it wasn't worse and will continue to try to make the best of things day by day. Hopefully you can as well. God bless!

Hey, this will probably be buried, but I lost my mom a few weeks ago and have been watching KZbin as a distraction. When you started talking about being thankful I had to replay it a few times because it actually made me feel something, and I haven't felt a deep emotion since my mom's funeral. Thank you for making me feel something other than numbness. And remember, tell everyone you love them before it's too late.

I'm 13, and I know this too. I was in science listening to music one day (with permission of course) and my science teacher came up to me and asked what I was listening to. I told him and he asked me why, all kids these days listen to different music. I told him it was because I have an impeccable taste in music. I love 70's and 80's music :)

just want to say thanks. it's nice to know that as funny and weird as you are- we have MANY of the same life lessons. and my dog broke my iPad last week. Your advice is rad, and right on, especially the talking to everyone. more than once, people have gotten mad at me for chatting with anyone around, but you're right. you absolutely do take things from every encounter. this morning I ended up helping coach a little girls soccer team just because I was bored and decided to kick a ball around while my kid was off at his clinic instead of staring at my phone on the sidelines. I had a blast, realized I'd forgotten how much I love playing soccer, and ended up cheering on a bunch of little kids and watching the rest of thier game- now I'm looking into coaching next season! and you're 100% right about saying yes sometimes. I've never regretted dragging myself out to do something I didn't feel like doing. you're pretty wise for a girl known for being funny. keep up the great work. P.s. three dogs IS a lot. :-)

I really liked this video! Recently I have been going to a lot of concerts, and people tell me I go to too many and it's a "problem". But I'm not hurting anyone and I have enough money to pay for them, so why does it matter? I had the best day of my LIFE at a concert this summer, I don't understand why people have to put me down about it. You made me feel okay about it!!

***** Well it definitely depends on the kind of music you like! I like pop-punk or alternative, soo Fall Out Boy puts on a really great show every time!

+PrincessUnicornBunny There is no such thing as too many concerts. As someone who is pretty much addicted to music, I've sadly only been to 3 concerts because of money issues, but I can safely say that if I were rich I would basically live at concerts and festivals. Music is an amazing thing, you shouldn't feel bad for appreciating and enjoying it. :)

I really needed to hear this jenna. im almost 18 years old,and in the country I live in (Israel) you must go to the army when youre 18. girls for 2 years and boys for 3 years. I have a boyfriend in Romania , we are in a long distance relationship for almost 4 years. I am so scared that we wont make it through these 2 years because we are used to visit each other a lot, and I dont know what will happen when I will turn 18. But youre right eventually these worries wont matter and I need to be grateful for the things I have in life instead of worring all the time. I need to stay positive and it will be ok. Okay so I waited until today to comment on this video bc it's my 17th birthday, and here are 17 things I've learned in 17 years: 1) do something active all through your life bc if you quit early you'll regret it 2) never pass up an opportunity to spend time with your friends bc something can happen to them in an instant 3) don't keep friends who make you feel bad about yourself 4) get involved in school activities/clubs early 5) attempt homework even if you're not 100% sure how to do it 6) ask for help when you need it 7) don't hold grudges 8) don't shave your legs too fast or else you'll get razor burn 9) always wear sunscreen and reapply often 10) spend time with your family 11) always keep a secret roll of toilet paper in a bathroom cabinet in case you get stranded with no tp 12) buy a tshirt at every concert/festival you go to 13) love your animals and spend as much time as you can with them, especially when they get old and it's almost their time to go
@madisonwalker27539 жыл бұрын
14) don't be afraid to be yourself 15) money isn't everything 16) value everything you have 17) learn how to cook, clean, do your own laundry and other household chores at a young age or else you'll be clueless when you have to become independent
