Kiaora, Im not sure how many waka there were, as we weren't there today at his burial. We have always had the kingitanga, all of the monarchs come from the same lineage, and that is the tradition. Maori have always had a monarch to bring about the unity and along with iwi leaders guide our direction.. There is absolutely no concern for Pakeha, or non maori it is a tradition we have always had. These days with social media everyone gets to see it.
