Hi 94jimmy5 - this is Big Rodders from Ireland. My models have what appear to be uncommon yokes where the reverse slot is set higher than the forward gears. I made up Jim's guide and while the forward gears worked great, there were challenges getting in and out of reverse. I resolved that issue by selected reverse, clamping the clutch pedal to achieve max lift of the yoke then adjusting the drive disk to 60 thou gap between the rubber clutch wheel and drive disk. I experimented with different gaps but 60 thou seemed ideal as reverse was selectable and there was adequate pressure applied in the forward gears. Check that the yoke spring tension is adequate and as they say in this part of the word - Bob's your uncle! I would live to learn of other solutions - Cheers

Thank you Sir my spring was on the weakest point also, and that was causing some of my problems. I still have something out of adjustment my reverse is really weak. It also will go forward in neutral if I play with the gear shifter.

I put one of the hour meters on my oil burner. Hour meter reading x nozzle size (mine1.2) = gallons of oil used per hour..... saves me having to check the measurement on the oil tank (have to go outside to access tank).

Good day fella. Would love to make the gauge tool you used to measure the rubber wheel clearance ?? Where is the blueprint with the dimensions so that I can make one too??? I would want to make one to check the tolerance between the friction disk and rubber clutch. Thank you Jim for all your help and information you gave me before. Good day and stay virus free too.

I know where the bottom (7) goes but what about the top? I couldn’t see it in this video. Part #7061197YP replaced by 7061197. Thanks

Soo how do i tighten the belt? Like yours, mine won't budge, however everything else is working great, belt is just pretty floppy. Mine's a BVE28 inch cut with B&S 12.5hp. I remember and old Re30 i believe was the mod# anyways I still have a horseshoe type of shim that that tightened the belt. This 2006 model has me stumped and its smoking hot today, heck the heat index is 98 as i speak in Oklahoma. Thanks Jim

Well, Bob, the only thing you can do is try to bust it loose sometime standing it up and trying to spray penetrating oil down the pipe around the pilot bushing will help them come loose. It depends how rusty it is, let me know what you’re up to if you need any help. Jim.

@@jimjackson9381 OK thanks Jim for the quick response! I just got back inside as it is about 15min from being dark and to top it off it started sprinkling as if we don't have enough humidity. Anyway if it's dry outside tomorrow I will stand it up and do as you say and see what happens. I may need a new belt after the neighbor used it and brought it back with a broken brake spring as call it plus the drive clutch had chunks out of it so I've done a lot of work on it the past couple of weeks including a new exhaust push rod. It's funny that everything was working great and after an hour and a half he pushes back to my garage with the afore mentioned problems, coincidence perhaps. Kind Regards Randy

Hi Jimi posted a couple of comments above some months ago and just mowed with the flopping belt. Anyway I got a new one yesterday and it's 2-3" too short,so i re-watched this video and was determined to get that tube pipe to Unseize. I did about an hour ago but there's a flexible type of washer that seems to be in a fixed position, this washer if you will is keeping me from installing the thick steel fork between the collar that tightens the tube if that makes any sense. Basically that washer keeps the clamp or collar out too far from the frame to which the clamp fork bolts to. I have a picture but I don't know how to do anything but watch and like on KZbin. If you have an email or fb account I can send it that way unless you know what I'm talking about as I suspect you do. Anyway thanks Jim!

How do you get your machines vertical without internal damages? Drain oil and petrol and remove battery? It would be so much easier to work on e.g. drive belt. I have a Murray and it's hard to change gear -- only when running, so I presume it's just an adjustment not the gearbox itself. I can't find anything either videos or just text hence I came here. Thanks.

@@jamesmccarroll9925 well if you’re talking about a snapper rear engine rider 1st you want to take the cover off the deck with the engine, not running, engage the mower deck and measured a distance between the belt at its closest point right by the idler pulley you should have right around 1 inch if you have more than that, you have to loosen the clamp around the tube and pull the frame apart to tighten the belt. Hopefully, the frame isn’t rusted into the rear case to check that with the machine sitting on the ground pick up the front end of the machine and try to twist it, it should twist from side to side.
