On 25th december 2020, after seeing your video series on welding machine, i decided to make the same chinese welder on my own. On January 10th 2021, i gathered a similar chinese machine for reference. Subsequently, i tried to implement the control and completed the control while using the power section of other machine. Successfully, got the output at no load. However, when the welding the igbts use to blow. Tried again and again but couldn't understand what was i doing wrong. I have also asked couple of questions from you and you very generous to respond to my comments. Now, today finally i got the welder working. I thank you with all my heart for doing such a wonderfull job. As always, you videos are extremely in depth and a great source for knowledge. I can't thank you enough for the support these videos have provided. 🙏

I was looking to bypass the "no stick" feature on a IGBT welding machine, do you have some reference schematics to analyze and understand how to do that or anyway some suggestion? I know that is a smart feature and there are no sense to bypass on welding procedure but I will go to use the IGBT welding machine as DC power supply for feed an electromagnet that obviously is detected as a "stick". Thanks in advance

Hello, I like your channel... lots of usefull information. I have a question regarding a igbt welder that I'm cuurently working on. It had low output voltage 1,7 volts. Problem is that on SG3525 IC pin 8 (soft start) is reading low and in normal operation it should read high (5V ). I've removed smd transistor j3y that was pulling down pin 8 and after that output voltage is 61,5V. So the question is : can I leave it working like that? Very thorough explanation, well done sir.. I have a problem on my cheap chinese welder. The minimum amperage setting seems to high so i cannot weld thin material. But i cannot see internal adjusting potensiometer so i can lower it. My question is how i modify the circuit in order to lower the treshold of the minimum amperage, says 20-25 ampere. Thanks... (Its a generik sg3525 controler machine)

Sir i have question i have repair a inverter wleding the problem is if you try to test to weld in settings of 50 ampere the igbt will be damage i’ve try to replace the two ic connected to sg532 that give freq. to driver transformer but the issue is the same if you power the machine is good but you try to weld it shutdown

best regards please check low voltage power supply section, i think that have fluctuation. remove cooling fan, and check check relay contacts, might be it is not contacting properly,

it seems there is problem in control card. it is not controlling pulse width so please check current transformer, output shunt resistor, current setting pot, current limit setting POT (on the card) operational amplifier / comparator IC

I have a problem with this device. works at max current constantly Igbt ok frequency at igbt 51khz Diode ok Voltages ok Question? 1. Does the control idle or only when the appliance starts to weld? 2. How is regulation done? 3. How to test it? I've attached a picture of device. On the left lm258, in the middle sg3525 and on the far right 4688 2 pcs Signal to 4688 at 2 and 4 pins ok pwm at 50% max Signal at 11 and 14 pins ok pwm at 50% max Sg3525 Duty cycle at max (50%) Short circuit pins 2-16 Pins in short circuit 1-10-12 Pins 3-4 are not used Control pin 30 pin Lm258 sg3525 and 4688

It is found very useful explanations of control circuit with SG 3525A , I am facing problem in 200a mma inverter welding machine with the ic UC 3846 dw , associated with 2no lm 293 , tlo84, and 2 no 4688 all are SMD from ,pcb consists 24 pin. Sir if you found such control card please explain, control pcb has code no PKB 200. The welding machine belongs to iBELL 200A

My welding machine is 200mma once spark the o.c alarm will come on and no out put but when I switch off and switch on again the o.c alarm was reset again but when spark the o.c alarm come again, what is the fault and how can I fix it?

whenever there is difference between output current, required current and primary side current then there will imbalance and there will OC light and the drive is terminated to protect the circuit in control card or its surroundings there are 2 or 3 potentiometers first of them is to set input current (most of time it is on the main board and connected in series with required current setting po) second is current limit (it is used to set maximum short circuit current limit) you need to adjust this potentiometer third is feedback current calibration fourth potentiometer is sometimes used to adjust CT signal (if it is available try to in crease its resistance) it is connected in series of of the CT signal

maximum duty cycle is achieved by setting maximum current limit from potentiometer start welding and connect clamp meter on one output wire to measure ampere connect oscilloscope to the gate of th IGBT to check the duty cycle then adjust current control pot on card to get maximum duty cycle

Also, the above method requires to turning on the machine and then accordingly setting the maximum current of the machine. In such a case, if the current at any instance even by mistake crosses a threshold, it might damage the igbts. Is there any technique so that i can set the maximum allowed current without turning on the machine

if control card is defective, it will not generate pulses to drive igbt or MOSFET or if it will generate drive pulses then might be uncontrollably, in this case it can weld but it will not control current
