Steps to keep yourself safe from the ghost if you’re staying out. Rule no. 1 - never agree to stay in such an old and creepy hostel/apartment etc. Rule no. 2- never ever open the door for anyone after 11 PM and before 6AM. 3rd and most important Rule- the moment you find out something is fishy, JUST RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!! PS - That Warden was aware that there’s an evil spirit in Room no. 13 still she allotted this Room to Poor Neha. So don’t trust your Hostel Warden also!!

Seriously trying to understand the people's taste / state of mind who are appreciating this movie in comments.. This is the such a failure on all levels.. Firstly, girl who is well off ( having a car and decent family) comes to stay in hostel which looks more worst than public toilets and when someone knocks on your door at 2 AM she doesn't have any single doubt and just welcomes everyone into room, not sure how this is very common to her and even after knowing there is a ghost she is still showing her acting skills in that room.. Arey meri maa , bhoot hai toh bhaag jao na , kyu uska intezar kar rahe ho, kuch aur exam questions puch na tha kya?.. Technical team ne cinematography naam pe ma chod diya.. My humble request to director , bhayyaa aap phir se iss movie field ke paas nai jaane ka , hum sah nai paayenge, aap bas light off karke Chaya/Smita ke saath so jao.

Just refreshed my hostel memories. When we were in hostel back in 2003 in pune, our hostel campus was too big with surrounded greenery & garden around but it was hell scary at night. Often we use to hear someone’s anklets voice at night from our dormitory’. We kept peeping from windows but we couldn’t see anyone. We use to always feel someone’s presence in garden at night, we weren’t allowed to go near garden post 7 pm by hostel management & the reason is still unknown!! Our principal had 3 pet dogs inside the campus & they use to bark continuously after 1 am

I believe that the hostel room is from an abandoned area....funny! Things I have learned after watching horror movies.... * Don't stay alone in any place * According to your religious beliefs, keep your holy book, idols etc & do prayers regularly... * Keep more than one light source which are operated by battery as backup. As ghosts are smart enough playing with electricity. (Don't forget to keep backup batteries for your backup lights!) * Don't stay in ghory places all alone * Always play some chanting voices of your religious mantras (MP3 sources are plenty & cheaply available nowadays)....like mosquito repellent repels mosquitoes, these mantras keep ghosts away. * In forest areas, don't go alone or with small group of people. Go with larger groups. In hundreds, if possible.

MY THEORY--SPOILER ALERT I believe there was a demon named 'Chaya", in room 17. According to her best friend, "Smita" began acting strangely and speaking to herself. (The translation is a little muddled, but this is what I think). Smita went to class for the exam, but left when the teacher was gone. He may have surmised she had gone to the restroom. However, she never returned to finish the test. After a day of non-contact, her room was opened and she was found dead. (Stress can make you vulnerable to demonic oppression/possession). Her time of death was probably 2am. (The clock in Neha's room always stopped at 2am, when the knocking began). The demon took on Smita's image to hunt for fresh prey. When Neha, a 1st year med student, moved in, "Chaya" came to her room and offered to tutor her. Neha gratefully agreed. Chaya returned each evening at 2am. The week Chaya stated she would be out of town, may have coincided with her funeral and internment. Unfortunately, while she was gone, Neha learned of her true name and existence. She was frightened and started to pack, but didn't finish. Her mind must have been racing with incredulity. When Chaya returned and Neha wouldn't open the door, the demon used the telephone and it's influential voice to get inside. The real Neha either died, or disappeared. The demon took on her image in order to continue the charade, and to gain access to new med students. Just my opinion, y'all! Confusing as Hell storyline, but I think my hypothesis is close enough to work. Thanks for reading everyone! Let me know what you think, and if there are any kinks in my postulation.

I agree. I was studying in class 12th. My room number was 13. After a very stressful situation I tried to commit sucide. I cut my wrist. It was September 13... But now when I think about it I feel that there was no reason to take such a big step. I think it was all because of some demonic power. Girls who were staying there for more than 2 years...once advised me to change my room but I ignored. Mine was the second sucide case happened in that room.
